Have some fun in the travel section.
I travel a fair bit, both for work and for fun. Here’s a bunch of random trip reports and daily trip-logs that I’ve put together and posted. I’ve sorted it all by world geography, in an attempt to make it easy to figure out where I’ve been.
My Photography Gear: The Cameras/Drones/Action Cams I Use Daily
The most common question I receive outside of the “what’s the best GPS watch for me” variant, are photography-esq based. So in efforts to combat the amount of emails I need to sort through on a daily basis, I’ve complied this “My Photography Gear” post for your curious minds (including drones & action cams!)! It’s a nice break from the day-to-day sports-tech talk, and I hope you get something out of it!
The Swim/Bike/Run Gear I Use List
Many readers stumble into my website in search of information on the latest and greatest sports tech products. But at the end of the day, you might just be wondering “What does Ray use when not testing new products?”. So here is the most up to date list of products I like and fit the bill for me and my training needs best! DC Rainmaker 2023 swim, bike, run, and general gear list. I try to limit my typo comments to things that I find myself reading multiple time to figure out what you mean. The people who had to do the walk of shame was for stealing bikes, not styling them.
Thanks, it’s been restyled.
Were can you get the Rhythm+™ for sale I can’t find it for the $59?
Thank you .
Unfortunately that sale ended on Monday. :(
Christmas Day tomorrow and no sign of Suunto’s marriage with Valencell ?
It sounds like that watch got pushed to next year. Likely the right move given the state of firmware on the Spartan series today.

Oops, I thought I had added that last week, but looks like I had Tweeted it out on Monday. Just added in.
My life is now complete … I’ve made it into a DCR post. :-)
The Uber thread on Slowtwitch was mine.
Ray, great stuff. Loved the Strava pictures and data. Did you notice the HR data on Arnaud Demare on his Milano-Sanremo journey? Avg HR 114 Max HR 215 ??? If those numbers are correct looks like he dogged it most of the way:)
Healthy Holiday wishes to you, your family and All DC fans.
any Withings HR Watch review coming from you yet….
I actually don’t have that variant yet. Oddly enough, they just e-mailed me last week. Apparently they thought their PR team had sent me one (they never reached out).
Merry christmas ray thanks for the update, Again A PR let down, like you’ve said many times people look to you for a honest view before ordering.
The GoPro Sessions deal price you have listed on the deals page does not seem to be reflected in the linked Amazon and CT pages
It was an Amazon deal. They may have pulled it early (they occasionally do that if they run out of stock). :(
Merry Christmas to all the Makers!
Hi Ray,
is there any European page you recommend to order ORP bike lights? All I saw were a lot pricier then you mentioned in your video.
Thanks and marry holidays
I don’t know of any spots online in Europe that have them.
However, their own site has them for $65USD + $15USD flat-rate shipping to Europe (or at least, France). So that might honestly be the better option.
continuous improvement and crushing goals in 2017. looking to sign up for IM texas that is in April. I am located in northern Indiana and trying to see what i can do with some bike training software and trainers to get me ready for April. All other races have been late summer early fall giving me the chance to train fully outdoors.
Looks like the FR620 got another update also, this week or previous week. No mention on the Garmin site, but all my data fields are messed up. That usually means there has been some update.
love strava pictures , do you know which place to download the pics please?
I really happy found and read this article, its providing great info. Thanks for sharing the information.
