Have some fun in the travel section.
I travel a fair bit, both for work and for fun. Here’s a bunch of random trip reports and daily trip-logs that I’ve put together and posted. I’ve sorted it all by world geography, in an attempt to make it easy to figure out where I’ve been.

Congrats Thomas! Enjoy your new gear. Hope that Oslo run was great.
Ray, I was going to leave this for the podcast (which I love listening to) but figured here is as good as anywhere. Unfortunately, Clever Training can no longer provide 10% discounts on Garmin gear even if not on sale. I found this out recently when preordering the new Vivosmart HR+. I contacted their customer support, and they said Garmin is requiring this change. CT is doing free 3 day shipping for VIP members like me. I suggested they should at least do 2 day since that matches Amazon here in the US. They also said they will roll out a new VIP program shortly.
I expressed disappointment they did not proactively provide this info to VIP members about the change. (It only impacts Garmin products as best I can tell.)
My belated congrats on the family addition!
Best,
Laird
Hi Laird-
Thanks for the support.
Good news, while that was the case a few weeks ago for a short time after Garmin made the change, the VIP program now allows you to get 10% back via points, which can be immediately used for any other purchase. Also, they’ll be retroactively giving any VIP members points for any purchases in May where they didn’t get a discount. I’ve outlined some of the details here: link to dcrainmaker.com – but it links to their page with more details on the new points program. The retroactive points credit may take a few more days, as they’re going through and processing all the transactions which is a bit tricky.
This new points program went live last week, and so far so good. For anything other than Garmin you can continue using the regular DCR 10% coupon code.
Cheers!
Thanks for the update. They said they would be emailing VIP members when the new program was ready, so I assume that is coming shortly.
OMG that is so cool! Thanks Ray and Clever Training :)
Am I supposed to receive an email soon or should I contact Clever Training directly?
Congratulations!
Congratulations Thomas!!!
congrats, i´d buy a fr 735 xt ;)
Congrats Thomas and thanks again Ray for the chance!
Ray, how did the flooding in Paris affect you? Hope everything is ok!
I didn’t win, but your sale post about Garmin Vector pedals at REI saved me $120, so thank you, thank you!
