Hoi Hoi Newsletter Peeps!
I know I probably say this too often, but WHERE is the time going??? This is officially the last November newsletter for 2018! Which means… we are almost at the end of the year? Wasn’t it just last week that I was breaking the news that I wore Ray down into admitting he needed an official DCR partner in crime, and he actually hired me?? Man, I think that was July…
Anyways, with time flying by, I won’t waste anymore! Onwards shall we?
Starting off, a big welcome to the new newsletter subscribers. We had another bump in readers lately. I’m thinking news of my witty humor has made its way into a new corner of the internet somewhere. So if you’re new around here, you can check out the Newsletter archives to see what this email is all about.
The last few days/week has been bananas with internet shopping deals. Ray has successfully drove me mad again this year, by his near constant refreshing of internet pages. With the exception of a few hours at a friend’s house for “Friends Giving” last Saturday night, the man has been researching and tweeting all things black Friday, Cyber Monday, (and “Cyber Monday Week”) all the time! It’s fine, I knew it was coming. Meh.
Finally it seems, the deals are coming to an end. There are a few straggling sales left to be found, and if you’re not sick of typing in your VISA number just yet, you can still keep an eye on Ray’s 2018 Holiday Deals post. I hear my fancy Fenix 5s is still up for grabs at a low price!
I do have to say a massive thank you to all the readers who have gone out of their way to support the DC Rainmaker website. Either buying through the Clever Training Links, subscribing as a DCR Supporter, or shopping for anything via Amazon (all countries), it all helps, and we can feel the love this year! We really appreciate you making the effort to shop via any of our links! Should I even dare comparing readers shopping via the DC Rainmaker website links to shopping small business/shopping local? Maybe? You are supporting a family business :) Regardless, one more time, THANK YOU!
Moving on to more techie items. Ray just dropped his initial thoughts on the new Specialized ANGi, it’s a crash detection device for helmets. Check it out in his Hands-On preview. I am hoping for good things from this device, as some of the handle bar mounted crash detection devices in the past (not naming any names, Garmin), have been known to give me massive heart attacks from false positives. I would be going about my day, and recieve an alarming SMS that Ray was in a collison and to call emergency services... yet he was just riding the cobbles of Paris...
This Specialized helmet pod does NOT need to be mounted on a Specialized helmet, I’m sure they would prefer if you did, but there are adapters for other brands as well. I am sure Ray will wreak havoc on this helmet before he releases his “In-Depth Review”, but until then, go see what he had to say.
Next up, Ray takes a few pokes at Strava. It seems they do a “Year in Review”, but that might be a bit misleading in the title. Anyways, I won’t steal his thunder, go see for yourself here in the Strava's 2018 Fascinating Year in Review Stats.
Last but certainly not least, the famous Five Random Things post. In this week’s edition we learn all about Amsterdam’s electric car share, how I have been enslaved into the storage room cleaning piece by piece every bit of technology that Ray has ever purchased, baking pies, and so forth. I do apologize, as I am known for making up recipes on the fly, and not writing them down after they were a success. Insert palm-to-forehead motion now. For all the details on what we were/ he was up to, go read the post!
Now, if you think reading is faux-pas and audio-visual is more your style, be sure to check out the DC Rainmaker YouTube Channel and click subscribe! By doing so you will be “in the know” for future new videos by Ray. This past week we have seen two new videos by Ray:
· Black Friday/ Cyber Monday Round up deals (Albeit, likely non-relevant at this point… see you should have subscribed!)
· Hands On: Specialized ANGi Crash Detection Pod
That’s all the news from the tech side of our house. If you have time to keep on scrollin’, I’d love to invite you to the section below, “In-Depth Thoughts from The Girl”.
