It's that time of the year again - when sports tech gadgets start to go on sale. Of course, many of us are looking forward to Black Friday sales in a couple weeks, but here's the nifty thing: Some of the best deals are actually had now. And by now, I mean today.
Twice a year there's the massive DCR/Clever Training VIP program sale. That sale gives DCR VIP members 20% off almost any single item you want - even the latest and greatest stuff. That includes all of the latest trainers announced this year (including all of the high end ones), as well as almost all power meters. If you're still holding out on picking up a trainer for the winter, I don't expect you won't find any better deals than this. Here's a couple of ideas to get ya thinking, consider these 'DCR Favorites' if you will:
Wahoo KICKR 2017 Smart Trainer Elite Direto Smart Trainer Tacx NEO Smart Trainer Quarq DZero Power Meters PowerTap P1 Power Meter Suunto Spartan Series GPS Watches ...and tons more.
In fact, I put together a full list right here as a starting point!
So, how'd you take advantage of it? In a nutshell you have to be a DCR/CT VIP member, which many of you are already. Sign-up only takes a second, and then you're good to go. The rest of the year that'll get you 10% back in points as well!
Now - the title also mentioned the Garmin Fenix 5 being $100 off, remember? That sale starts tomorrow, Friday the 10th. All Garmin Fenix 5 units (5/5S/5X) are $100 off. Also, the cycling-focused Garmin Edge 820 mapping capable unit will be down to an incredibly low price of $299 - a mere $50 more than the Edge 520 and Wahoo BOLT. Neither of those sales require VIP membership, but both don't start till Friday.
I don't see either sale as indicators of immediate replacements of these products, but rather Garmin deciding to step it up this year a bit with the holiday sales.
All of this is outlined in a ton more detail here in my post on it that just went live (plus the usual small print stuff). And if you've got tech questions like which products to choose, you can drop them in the comments section of that post and I'll do my best to answer them all.
And lastly - thanks for the support! Using any of the links on this e-mail or that page helps support the site. And don't worry, the next newsletter you'll receive from me will be from The Girl again, as always, because she writes funnier stuff than I do.
Thanks as always! -Ray
