Something look funny? Read this newsletter online!

Hey there Newsletter readers,

Magically we are into July already. Ray packed up and headed to Frankfurt, Germany for another year of Euro bike, then to the Tour de France. And we are holding on tight as the schedule over summer vacation is about to hit warp speed. Public school here in the Netherlands goes until 19th of July, so you can bet we have lots of things planned for their 6 weeks of holidays!

If you stick with me here, I’m going to give a quick housekeeping recap of what’s happening at DC Rainmaker HQ and then you can sneak down to the In-Depth Thoughts of The Girl for a few life and training updates.

First up, quick reminder of the DC Rainmaker Open House – Summer Event is coming up quickly. Registration is limited, and we are quickly looking at a full house again this year. We have a special guest, Shane Miller of GPLama, he is back from the land down under, and we are excited to have him with us here in Amsterdam again.

Since I haven’t really been on the Newsletter train this year, I fear some of you might be missing out on the best revamped FIT File Podcast out there. Ray and Des from DesFit have been pumping out bi-weekly podcasts on The FIT File. Their latest episode on Summer Sports Tech just dropped, and it’s always fun to have a listen to those two chatter on, so go have a listen!

And last but not least, the website has seen several new product launches. With 2 out of 3 in-depth reviews gaining high scores, the summer seems to be kicking off with a great start. The Garmin Edge 1050 and Suunto Race S are definitely products to look into if you’re looking for an upgrade, but hold off for now if you were excited for the COROS Dura. As a baker myself, the COROS Dura is sort of like that cake in the oven you stick with a toothpick and it comes out all sticky. Yeah, it’s not done yet, and if you take her out of the oven now, she’s gonna flop. So let’s let that one bake for a little longer, because once done, everyone likes a fully baked cake.

In-Depth Thoughts of The Girl

Well hello there. You made it down to my little space here on the internet.

It’s been a really busy first half of the year. With 3 races under my belt already, I’m left pondering my next move. I’ve hit 1 out of 3 in terms of performance successes, and that’s not a batting average I’m satisfied with. So it’s back to the grind this summer, and I hope to capture a big goal later this year in the 70.3 distance.

I have also been working throughout this spring with a fantastic company, creating something that I AM really proud of, and that is news we will be breaking to you in the next week or so. Hopefully, you will be excited too, and I can get lots of feedback from the people who matter most… you guys! So stay tuned for that.

Last but not least, race reports! I’m working my way through my race reports from this past year. Part of it is for my own personal enjoyment, but also there doesn’t seem to be a lot of race reports on the events I’ve checked out here in Europe. So I’ve convinced Ray to let me be a guest writer on the website and get some of those posts out over the next few weeks.

That’s it for now. Since I haven't written in so long, I find myself frozen with “Where do I start?”. So I decided to not over think it, just jump in to say hi, and get back to you all next week with some big news and see where we go from there!

As always, thanks for being DC Rainmaker Newsletter Subscribers. Stay tuned!

Bobbie
