If you’ve read any of my Garmin device reviews (305/405/310XT/705), you’d know that I think GTC is a piece of garbage – and I’m pretty sure Garmin would actually agree with me given they haven’t improved it functionally since earlier this decade. … I use Sports Tracks with an old school Polar Watch that’s downloadable, as well as importing in text files from a CompuTrainer.

And as for the rest of the functionality in these new Smart Trainers, I’ll be looking at 1-2 of the units (at least the Satori, but perhaps also the Vortex) in upcoming reviews. … So you could for example also use it with a Garmin head unit (via ANT+), or with an iOS app (via Bluetooth Smart) – or even some of the Bluetooth Smart only watches like the TomTom Multisport watch.

So just shortly after I got them on Friday morning, I tried to order the new PowerBeats Pro – which are basically a blend of the red PowerBeats I’ve long had around (and you’ve seen in my reviews) with the AirPods. … Of course, I’d been testing this for a few days around home and the DCR Cave – and even leaving a watch on my desk I could make it all the way across the DCR Cave (three rooms away) – before I’d find some dropouts (and only partially).

We have lots of publicity/marketing items on the Google Glass, but as you often see in my reviews, the devils are in the details. … Within that small screen, you’ll get metrics related to speed/distance/descent/etc… Essentially, the same type of information you’d see while running with a GPS watch, you’re getting from the heads up display for skiing.
