Elite’s new Direto trainer–Hands on!

www.dcrainmaker.com/2017/07/elites-direto-trainerhands.html

Of course, we could still see something new from Wahoo, or perhaps Kinetic if they’re willing to join the rest of the world on dual ANT+/BLE.

Zwift Releases Apple TV App: Everything you need to know

www.dcrainmaker.com/2017/11/zwift-releases-apple.html

From a sensor standpoint I’ve also tried Garmin’s Vector 3 power meter and Wahoo’s TICKR X heart rate strap – all over Bluetooth Smart natively, no issues.

Apple Watch Ultra Hands-On: Everything you need to know!

www.dcrainmaker.com/2022/09/apple-watch-everything.html

This sounds similar to what we’ve seen from COROS/Garmin/Wahoo in recent years.

My 2012 ANT+ Symposium Presentation

www.dcrainmaker.com/2012/10/my-2012-ant-symposium-presentation.html

In presenting here I’m able to address the vast majority of the sports technology industry, from the big player names you hear daily (Garmin, Timex, etc..) to the companies that design the components they use (Texas Instruments, Nordic Semiconductor), to all the smaller companies that support and compete with those devices (Wahoo, Clothing+, Alphamantis, 4iiii’s, and many more you’ve never heard of).

Garmin Instinct GPS Watch In-Depth Review

www.dcrainmaker.com/2018/10/garmin-instinct-review.html

Typically I’d wear a chest strap (usually the HRM-TRI or Wahoo TICKR X, but also the Polar H7), as well as another optical HR sensor watch on the other wrist (and usually also a Scosche Rhythm 24).

www.dcrainmaker.com/2021/12/little-pelican-explore-review.html

So, you can use an almost identical sensor from Garmin (or Wahoo), which is the magnetless speed sensor.

www.dcrainmaker.com/2024/07/zwift-ceo-interview-what-worked.html

Go forth and enjoy the above! Also note if you found this interesting, you'll probably find the one I did with the founder of Wahoo Fitness, Chip Hawkins, back a little bit ago.

Garmin Vivoactive 4 Smartwatch In-Depth Review

www.dcrainmaker.com/2020/02/garmin-vivoactive-smartwatch.html

Typically I’d wear a chest strap (usually the Garmin HRM-DUAL or Wahoo TICKR X, but also recently the Polar H9) as well as another optical HR sensor watch on the other wrist (lately the Polar OH1 Plus, as well as the new Mio Pod).

Hands-on: Cycliq’s new Fly6 CE & Fly12 CE with Garmin integration and more!

www.dcrainmaker.com/2017/11/cycliq-fly6ce-fly12ce.html

While at present only Garmin on the head-unit side (to my knowledge) supports the ANT+ lighting standard, now that we have four different lighting vendors (Garmin, Bontrager, See Sense, Cycliq), perhaps we’ll see other companies start to support the lighting standard (cough, Wahoo, or, cough).

www.dcrainmaker.com/2016/08/hands-launches-subscription.html
