For example in Paris it’ll almost always trigger on an approaching Velib (bike sharing bike) when I’m stationary, but not so much on a single-speed bike.

Ironically, the shifting system/company is exactly the same in the massive Velib bike sharing program here in Paris: There are integrated front and rear LED lights, which operate based on the front wheel spinning.

Post run, I zipped right back out again on the bike share Velib bike to try and get to one of the markets in time to pickup ingredients for dinner.

There’s a well known place just up the hill from us, that’s an easy Velib bike ride away (and a way more fun bike ride coming back – all downhill to our doorstep).
