Week in Review–July 2nd, 2018

www.dcrainmaker.com/2018/07/week-in-review-july-2nd-2018.html

Fear not on the slim post count, things are going to heat up tomorrow, stay warm through the rest of the week and then reach crazy-level by Sunday morning as the Eurobike show opens.

The 2019 Swim/Bike/Run Gear I Use List

www.dcrainmaker.com/2019/07/2019-swim-bike.html

If you're looking for my specific recommendations on gear, you’ll find my general recommendations here (though, they don’t account for new watches this year), my trainer recommendations here (still pretty accurate for another month or so till Eurobike), and then my power meter buyers guide here (definitely still accurate).

5 Random Things I Did This Weekend

With that, the final two weeks of crazy before Eurobike begins!…

2011 Sport Device GPS Accuracy In Depth: Part I

www.dcrainmaker.com/2011/06/2011-sport-device-gps-accuracy-in-depth.html

At this point I’d suspect I’ll wait until all of the summer related releases occur (including things leading up in EuroBike/Interbike in late August).

Rouvy Adds New Strava Live Segment Racing Feature

www.dcrainmaker.com/2022/08/strava-segment-feature.html

Now, as cool as this is, as I said in an Instagram story back at Eurobike in July, it’s what’s coming later this year that’s even cooler.

Stages Starts Shipping New Dash M50/L50/L10 GPS Bike Computers: First Ride Details

www.dcrainmaker.com/2019/06/stages-dash-first.html

But in this case, it’s roughly the delay that Stages incurred for their flotilla of new bike GPS units, initially announced last July back at Eurobike with a planed fall shipping date.

Xert Training Platform In-Depth Review

www.dcrainmaker.com/2017/03/training-platform-review.html

Then the hell that is Eurobike-Interbike-ANT+ Symposium conventions and travel sets in for September, where cycling drops off.

Week in Review–March 8th, 2020

www.dcrainmaker.com/2020/03/week-review-march-2020.html

However, I could see a scenario where some US companies might shift a product launch or two from Eurobike (first week of September) to Sea Otter if it was only 3-5 weeks later (as they often did for Interbike in the past).

5 Random Things I Did This Weekend

www.dcrainmaker.com/2014/08/random-things-did-this-weekend-7.html

I’ll do the whole thing in reverse on Tuesday night, ultimately making three flights before landing into the tiny little airport virtually attached to Eurobike at 9AM on Wednesday.

5 Random Things I Did This Weekend

This allows me to test various things, especially important as we ramp up to Eurobike less than a month away.

More trainers, a touch of snow, and a new bike

www.dcrainmaker.com/2012/12/more-trainers-a-touch-of-snow-and-a-new-bike.html

Numbers which albeit even the Power2Max guys to me at Eurobike admitted are highly susceptible to being skewed.

Round-up video of all my CES 2019 final thoughts up!

www.dcrainmaker.com/2019/01/round-video-thoughts.html

These were the ones announced last year at Eurobike and are nearly ready for release.

More boxes, more gadgets to test

www.dcrainmaker.com/2012/07/more-boxes-more-gadgets-to-test.html

At the present, this trainer is in behind another trainer for reviews (the LeMond Revolution), which I aim to have done ahead of Eurobike.

An awesome ride in the Swiss Alps

www.dcrainmaker.com/2017/09/awesome-ride-swiss.html

And this past week, while working my way back home from Eurobike, I set aside a few hours (ok, a lot of hours) for a climb up the majestic Grosse Scheidegg in Switzerland.

5 Random Things I Did This Weekend

I might knock out a full review of it next week, we’ll see how much time I end up having, since I want to get out a few other cycling related things before Eurobike.

SIGMA ROX 12.0 Sport Cycling GPS In-Depth Review

www.dcrainmaker.com/2018/06/sigma-cycling-review.html

If for no other reason than for at least half a decade the company has been at events like Eurobike, Interbike, and the ANT+ Symposium – trying to find just the right piece of hardware to get that viral unit like Wahoo got with their BOLT.

Power2Max goes to $599 – Joins Quarq, Pioneer in April power meter price slashing

www.dcrainmaker.com/2015/04/power2max-pioneer-slashing.html

Part of that (if I can take a slight detour here) is that Eurobike/Interbike is actually really poor timing for the bike industry.

Rouvy Rolls Out Augmented Reality Indoor Training Feature

www.dcrainmaker.com/2018/12/augmented-reality-training.html

It’s something they demo’d this past summer at Eurobike (and I even made a video about it then).

My Winter 2015-2016 Sports Gadget Recommendations

www.dcrainmaker.com/2015/11/winter-sports-gadget-recommendations.html

Obviously, given it’s now basically the trainer season, there’s no more trainers coming out till at the earliest mid-next year, with most announcements typically happening at Eurobike in August each year.

Hands-on: SRM’s new EXAKT Power Meter Pedals

www.dcrainmaker.com/2018/05/hands-exakt-pedals.html

I’ll also likely release a new version of that previous comparison post, with the EXAKT in there, and in the highly unlikely chance anything else pedal-wise comes out of Eurobike, that too.

PowerTap announces P1 Power Meter Pedals, also PowerTap C1 chainring unit

www.dcrainmaker.com/2015/03/powertap-announces-chainring.html

New Disc G3 hub: This was announced way back at Eurobike in August 2014 (see here for more detail).
