Huge Amazon Prime Day 2023 Sports Tech Deals Tracker!

It’s back again – Amazon Prime Day…err…Days. That means that most (all?) Amazon country properties are doing pretty substantial deals across the board on all sorts of products for today and tomorrow (July 11th and 12th). This event is held each summer, usually in July, and often this day has better sports tech deals than even Black Friday does (from an Amazon perspective).

In some ways, a July sale date for sports tech items is timed perfectly. See, typically Black Friday deals are for ‘older’ things, rarely the ‘just announced’ stuff that often comes in the late August to October timeframe (especially cycling trainers and watches). But with Amazon Prime Day being in July, there’s more opportunity for brands to put things on sale for a one-off summer day. Typically speaking though, don’t expect to see things on sale that were announced this year.

To take advantage of Amazon Prime Days you simply need to be an Amazon Prime member. The good news is that you can sign-up for the free trial and cancel later if you don’t find value in it. Just hit up this giant banner below to do so:

AmazonPrimeDay

I’ve organized all the best sports technology Amazon Prime Days deals (and a few others I’ve found) below in the tables by category. I’ll be updating them throughout the next two days. Keep in mind not all deals last (in fact, most don’t). So if you see something that’s hot, I’d strongly suggest buy now (and return later if need be).

With that, onto the deals! And thanks for supporting the site via the links below. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Enjoy!

Watches & Wearables:

This covers anything you can wear that’s watch-like or activity band-like, including sensors.  Generally speaking, you’ll mostly find deals here that are on things I’ve written about in the past.  So you won’t find a deal on some random non-sports tech watch here, or on socks. Unless the socks have some crazy sensor or something in them.

Fitbit Ace LTE Kids Activity Smartwatch - 22% off$179This was just announced this summer, and is their first full smartwatch focused on kids activity tracking and gamification.
Fitbit Charge 6 - 38% off!
$159
$99This is the go-to sale price for the Fitbit Charge 6. It happens often, but it still doesn't take away from the fast that it's argueably the best bang for your buck fitness tracker out there.
Fitbit Inspire 3 - $30 off$69
Fitbit Sense 2 - $70 off$179
Fitbit Versa 4 - $40 off$119
Garmin Epix Pro Series - 20% off!
$899/$999
$649⚡ This is the lowest price to date for the Garmin Epix Pro series, likely due to the Fenix 8 coming out a few months back (Epix as a brand was merged into the Fenix 8 branding). Still, if you don't care about diving or voice bits, this is an incredible deal.
Garmin Epix Sapphire/Titanium (Gen 2) - $400+ off!$449⚡⚡⚡ This is a crazy super strong deal. Note the Epix received all of the software updates of the Epix Pro. While we saw a slightly better deal at $399 for a day back in October, this is otherwise the lowest price we've seen it sustained at.
Garmin Fenix 7 Pro - 31% off (All Variants)
$799+
$549+⚡ This is the lowest price to date for the Garmin Fenix 7 Pro series, likely due to the Fenix 8 coming out a few months back. Still, if you don't care about diving or voice bits, this is an incredible deal.
Garmin Forerunner 165 Music - $50 off!$249This is the first time we've head a meaningful sale on the Forerunner 165, released earlier this year, down to $249 for the Music edition, and $199 for the non-music edition.
Garmin Forerunner 255/255S - $100 off$249This is Garmin's mid-tier running watch, and is a very polished option with good multi-band GPS, and of course, a boatload of running metrics.
Garmin Forerunner 255/255S Music - $100 off!
$349/$399
$299This is Garmin's mid-tier running watch, and is a very polished option with good multi-band GPS, and of course, a boatload of running metrics. This model also includes offline music such as Spotify and Amazon Music.
Garmin Forerunner 265 - $100 off$349This is the first time we've seen the Forerunner 265 on sale, and it's solidly priced right now at $349
Garmin Forerunner 265s - $100 off$349This is the first time we've seen the Forerunner 265 on sale, and it's solidly priced right now at $349
Garmin Forerunner 955 - $100ish off!$399This is one of Garmin's most popular running watches, and it's down to a very strong price. I often use this in my accuracy testing comparisons when validating other watches, due to it's very strong GPS performance. Note this is the base edition without solar. It'd be hard to find any better deal in sports watches today, from any company (given this has full mapping, tons of new features even this week, etc...). I say '$100ish', because it's usually been on forever sale at $499, so $399 is a strong price, though, it dipped to $319 for Amazon Prime Day.
Garmin Forerunner 965 - $50 off!$499This is the lowest price we've seen ever on the Forerunner 965, since it's launch. It's still Garmin's top-end Forerunner watch, and I expect it to stay that way for a while. It's one I often use in comparative testing as a reference device.
Garmin Instinct 2X - $100 off!$349This is a solid deal. Garmin Instinct 2X - $100 off! It's best thought of as an Instinct 2.5, as it has almost enough features to really be more of an Instinct 3 (which doesn't exist at this point).
Garmin Tactix 7 Pro - 20% off$1,049This is the largest discount we've seen to date on the Tactix 7 Pro unit. Note the other Tactix 7 Pro units/variants are also on sale for 20% off too (this link takes you to all of them).

Cycling Gear & Trainers:

Got a bike? Then this section is for you.  Everything from bike computers to bike lights to trainers, it’s all here.  I won’t generally be adding things like brake cables or bike seats here, but if I find a good deal on a cassette to stack on that new direct drive trainer you just bought, I’ll probably list it here.

ProductSale PriceAmazonOther siteSale Notes
Garmin Edge 1040 Cycling GPS - $100 off!$499This is a good deal, especially since it's gotten virtually all of the Edge 1050 updates, and then a boatload more. That said, it wouldn't surprise me to see this drop further to $449, as it did this past summer.
Garmin Edge 540 - $100 off$249⚡⚡This is the lowest price we've seen on the Garmin Edge 540 to date, which has gained virtually all of the new Garmin Edge 1050 features as well. This is kinda an insane deal for this unit.
Garmin Edge 540 Solar - $100 off$349This is the lowest price we've seen on the Garmin Edge 540 Solar to date, which has gained virtually all of the new Garmin Edge 1050 features as well.
Garmin Edge 840 - $100 off$349⚡⚡This is the lowest price we've seen on the Garmin Edge 840 to date, which has gained virtually all of the new Garmin Edge 1050 features as well. This is one of my main units I use daily.
Garmin Edge 840 Solar - $100 off$449This is the lowest price we've seen on the Garmin Edge 840 Solar to date, which has gained virtually all of the new Garmin Edge 1050 features as well.
Garmin Edge Explore 2 - $40 off
$299
$269This is a great little unit, though, with the sales on the Edge 540 and 840 series, you might want to look at those instead.

And then here’s a separate bucket for trainers and indoor bikes:

Tacx Flux 2 Smart Trainer - $200ish off
$899
$499I mean, I guess. Really, I don't see why anyone would buy this trainer at any price above $299. With the JetBlack Victory at $399 being more accurate, quiter, including WiFi, including Zwift Cog support (or mechanical cassette), including dual-Bluetooth, including Race Mode, and...one could go on and on.
Tacx NEO 2T Smart Trainer - $200-$300 off
$1,399
$899This is the go-to sales price for the NEO 2T, though has become more frequent over the past year. It's still an incredible trainer, and is the top-end non-moving trainer from Garmin/Tacx.
Wahoo KICKR CORE Zwift One (COG V2) + Play Controllers
$499
$499This package includes the KICKR CORE with the Zwift V2 Cog, but notably now also includes the Zwift Play controllers. Basically, this saves you about $100 or so, and is the first time we've seen them bundle it.
Wahoo KICKR MOVE - $300 off!
$1,599
$999⚡⚡ This is actually a very solid deal, and the first time we've seen this discounted. In fact, frankly, this is the first time in years it feels like Wahoo is actually doing a legit sale on something. Kudos.
Wahoo KICKR ROLLR - $100 off
$599
$499
Wahoo KICKR SNAP - Lowest Price Ever
$499
$199This is lowest we've ever seen the KICKR SNAP priced. While the trend has moved towards wheel-off/direct drive trainers, this is still really solid deal if your budget it tight. That said, if you're in Europe, Decathlon has the D100 on sale for $199 also, and in my testing, I'd go with that almost every time.

Action Cameras & Drones:

Wanna record it?  No better way than an action camera.  Anything that’s action camera-related or drone-related you’ll find here.  That’s especially true of action camera mounts, which are often found for great deals around the holidays.  Same goes with drones and drone accessories.  Usually a great time to pick up an extra battery or extra props.

ProductSale PriceAmazonOther siteSale Notes
GoPro Hero 12 Black - $100 off!$299The new Hero 13 just came out, which mostly just adds a bunch of new accessory options. If you don't plan to purchase those accessories, then this is a solid deal.
GoPro Hero 13 Black - $60 OFF!$399This is the first time we have seen the newly announced GoPro Hero 13 Black on sale. Solid deal, this is my daily use action cam!
Insta360 Ace Pro Action Cam - $50 off$299This is the previous edition, as the Ace Pro 2 just came out a few weeks back, but this is still a very solid camera from a year ago.
Insta360 GO 3S Tiny 4K Action Camera - $60 off!$239This is a great deal for this tiny little thing, which should really be named the Go 4, given how many new features it has (including 4K). It also has all the Insta360 sport integration features with Garmin & Apple, to overlay your Garmin/Apple data automatically on your footage.

Other Sports & Fitness:

Anything else that’s sports and fitness related that I think is interesting will be here.  It may not be super techy – but it’s stuff that most readers will be using in pursuit of their running/cycling/swimming/hiking/whatever.

European Deals!

What’s that? You’re not in the US and still want a deal?  No problem!  Note that on Amazon Europe deals, generally speaking, you can order from any Amazon European country site (i.e., Amazon France) and have it shipped within the EU (i.e., Spain). Thus, many times deals are duplicated across the sites. I generally try and just distill it down to one.

This year almost *ALL* of the watch/cycling deals you’ll see in the main lists are available in Europe too! So you can click on those links and it’ll theoretically redirect to the correct Europe store. For the most part, the %-off are the same (a first!). Still, some of the links above break because Amazon uses umpteen million different SKU codes and aren’t aligned between Amazon countries. Thus you can try the above first, and if it fails, then just type it in manually.

Remember, these deals refresh each day for the most part, and usually only last a few hours. Jump if you see something you like!

DCR Random Gadget List:

This is basically the mostly totally unrelated gadgets and things I think are cool deals that I’ve likely bought one or five of (you can never have too many, right)?  Some of it’s probably photography stuff.  Some of it’s random stuff like chargers and battery packs that I use daily, fun camera gear I use to make videos like sliders and turntables, and well…just random things you’ll find around the DCR Cave.  It’s all random…but it’s all awesome randomness!

Jackery Portable Power Station - $60 off!$199This is something I use frequently when shooting out and about and I need to re-charge a crapton of drone batteries, action cameras, or just cameras and such. I also use it on trips to Eurobike and elsewhere to keep equipment charged. I've even bought a solar panel to hook up to it (surprisingly effective). Heck, I've even powered a KICKR trainer ride from it!

With that – thanks for reading, and for supporting the site via the links above.

Anyone seeing the $30 coupon for the Garmin Varia RCT715? Not seeing it on the product page or in my cart or anything.

    • Scott Smith

Never mind, found it! Have to click on “other purchase options” to find the right listing with the coupon.

  3. Mark Landry

Is the Epix Gen 2, at $600, a better recommendation than the FR 965 at the same price?

  4. Ray, I have the Ooni 16 inch wood fire pizza oven, LOVE IT!!!!

There is definitely a learning curve with dialing in how long to heat it up, how much flame, etc. If you’ve never used a wood fire pizza oven before, then it will take some practice and don’t be surprised if you ruin and burn a few pies before getting it right. Good thing pizza ingredients are cheap!

  5. Ken

GoPro’s website has the Hero 11 for $349, including an extra battery & SD card w/o joining or $299 if you’re a GoPro member

  6. Clay

Just ordered the Hammerhead Karoo 2 from their website with a promo code that gets you one of their HR monitors for free!

  7. Scott

    Great price on the 1030.

Quick question… Are there features on the 1040(s) that have NOT makes they’re way to the 1030?

  8. Ronald

De Garmin Edge 130+ is a very good deal also: just € 125 in Europe.

  9. Kent Compton

Amazon raised the 1030 Plus’ price to $489.

    • bmcf

Garmin has it for $309.99 on their website right now.

    • Generally speaking, throughout the history of Amazon Prime Day and Amazon Black Friday deals with Garmin specifically, we often see this deal come back within a few mins/hours. It’s almost as if they sold through their allotment, and then need to ring-up Garmin to see if they can get another slice at that price (which, is seriously, how this actually works in some cases).

I’d keep checking the link, I’d bet it’ll be back soon…

    • Kent Compton

Garmin themselves have it for $309 link to garmin.com

    • Jeff K

The deal is back up and I went through Ray’s link to buy it. Thanks Ray!

  10. John

Anyone going in on the DJI mini pro 3? Seems like a great deal in the UK

  11. Darin

I see the Forerunner 745 for 279.99, seems like quite a deal (lower than the camelcamelcamel lowest)

  12. Changren Y.

The Amazon (US) listing for the Garmin Varia RCT715 shows “Bicycle radar” for $349.99 and “Bicycle Radar + seat post mount kit” for $389.08. Pretty sure the RCT715 comes with the same seat post mount kit as shown in the more expensive option. Is that an additional mount kit, on top of what’s already included?

  13. Leanne R

Also look for a Prime Day deal on the Garmin 745 ($125 off). Nice price

  14. SD Sells

The Euro AirTags Are already unavailable

  15. Siim Vollmer

Unfortunately not many of those deals you have listed, made it across to Australia.

Here are my best finds on 2 Garmin watches:

Fenix 7: from $1349 down to $861 (-36%, best I could find and better what you have listed)
Epix Pro (gen2): from $1740 down to $1388

  16. Dirk

Polar Ignite 3 is also 24% off
    link to amazon.de

  17. mike

Welp, I guess I saved myself almost $700 after tax. Best Prime Day ever!

Saw the 1030+ and Varia RCT deals this morning before I even checked DCR. Started looking at comparisons vs 1040 to see if I could live with the older model, got distracted by work, and now both deals are gone. Fair enough, will continue on just using my Fenix 7X mounted to the handlebars instead. :)

  18. Peter Z.

Has Garmin made enough updates to firmware or app so the Radar/Camera combo unit is acceptable now?

    • Mike

Would also love to know if the Garmin Varía 715 has improved firmware enough to make accessing video useful.

    • Bill T

I still find accessing video clips via the app cumbersome, but since I want to do any viewing and editing on my computer anyway, it’s really no big deal to hook the unit up via USB C cable to browse and find the clips I might want which are time and date stamped.

They have added things like being able to not only have the time, date, GPS location and cycling speed embedded on the video, they now have the speed of the approaching car. Video is fine – was quite handy a couple weekends back to review exactly what happened when one in my cycling group unfortunately hit a curb in a paceline, falling and breaking a hip while a couple following riders went over the top of him.

  19. Steve Douglas

The Withings Body+ is £59.95 on Amazon UK, but is it worth spending a bit more and getting the newer but equivalent Body Smart? I don’t recall seeing reviews of them here but fully concede that I may have missed them!

Currently have the WS-50 which still works well enough so continuing with that is also an option. Thoughts?

  20. Alan T.

Hey Ray, What are the brands and models of the two watches you are wearing in your Prime Day YouTube video? Thank you

  21. RZ605

    $699 Epix is gone.

  22. Avishai Moscovich

I cannot find the Garmin Edge 1030 Plus deal, does it mean it is out of stock?

  23. Jeff

The Samsung T7 Shield 4TB disk is also half off ($199 down from $429) on Amazon. It’s a rugged version of the T7.

  24. Graham

I got a real bargain on a Forerunner 255… I’ve been thinking of getting one for a while, as the battery on my 645 runs down pretty quickly these days. The initial Prime price went down to £249, which I’ve seen other retailers (including Garmin) offer it at. Then it came down to £238 and I put it in my basket but slept on it. When I looked again on the second day of the sale it was sitting in my basket at £208, despite following the link back to the product description and seeing it still at £238. I hit the “buy” button pronto and it’s arrived today.

OTOH I did buy a POC helmet in the prime sale but it’s still the same price today, as are a couple of other things I considered but was able to resist impulse purchases. .

  25. Mark P

In the UK, the Epix Sapphire Black Titanium is available for £599 at John Lewis

  26. todd

Not looking for a deal, but I believe you posted somewhere about the battery pack you use when you are shooting remotely and I can’t find it anywhere. Am I crazy or just not looking hard enough?

  27. Craig

Not sure if this was posted anywhere but Running Warehouse has Epix 51 mm and 42 mm for an additional $100 off on top of the $200 discount.

  28. FYI I just saw on the Wahoo site they’re selling the KICKR Core KOM bundle for ~$660 in the US, that’s a KICKR Core and a KICKR Climb. Amazing deal considering REI has the Climb on sale for $559!
