Today is Friday – you made it to the end of the week – and almost to the end of spring. But more importantly, today is also National Strawberry Shortcake Day (Don’t trust me? Look it up.) Unfortunately, I don’t expect to eat any Strawberry Shortcake today. Or tomorrow. And sure, I could have titled this ‘Father’s Day Gadget Giveaway’, but some countries celebrate that on other weekends (lookn’ at you, Australia).
In any case, it seems reason enough to give away some gadget goodness. But fear not, I won’t be restricting this to those in specific countries (Australia or otherwise). Anyone, anywhere on earth, is welcome to join as always. Also, I think we just need more cake holidays to have faux reasons for me to give stuff away. It’s been far too long.
The winner will get a $500 credit to CleverTraining.com, my most excellent partner in this giveaway crime. By supporting the site through Clever Training you also can save 10% on almost anything they sell (or get points instead). If you win, you can use that credit for anything from the GoPro Hero 7 Black (which is actually $70 off through Sunday, the lowest we’ve seen it), to the just shipping new Stages Dash units, to a random pair of socks, the Garmin Forerunner 945, or heck, even towards a new power meter. Whatever floats your boat (note: they don’t sell boats…wait, update, they do!). Also note, your credit is in US dollars, not Australian – otherwise you’d get less. Nobody wants less.
How to enter:
Simply leave a short description of what product you’d get and why (but don’t worry, you can change your mind later if you win). Or, you can leave a description of which product your dad would want for Father’s Day.
The reason you need a short description of ‘why’ is that if you just put a simple product name (i.e. FR945), you’ll likely get caught up in my SPAM filters. And nobody wants to be sandwiched between two pieces of SPAM. Got all that?
Good luck!
The giveaway entry period will run through Monday, June 17th, 2019 until 11:59PM US Eastern Time. Winner will be selected randomly. One entry per person. The selected product/products will then be ordered immediately and shipped immediately, assuming they’re in stock.

Most likely a powermeter or a garmin 645.
My FR910XT died yesterday, it went with a blank screen, however activity transfer was working and it was impossible to turn off the device. So some replacement would be good or a Vector pedals as a second option…
Some Vivoactives for the kids or a smart trainer or a drone. Too much choice. I don’t know. Something, I’d definitely get something.
I’d get a Hypersphere! Why? Because a vibrating massage ball is awesome for my poor poor muscles.
I get lost in woods all the time, so I definitely need a Garmin Edge 530!
I would upgrade my polar m400 to a vantageV or switch to garmin. Because as a dad on age i want to stay fit to keep doing things with my son (and to feel good and look good 50+)
Stand up paddle board Why to enjoy the water in the summer
Having trained with a Neo this winter I would like to know the watts riding outside as well…
So, something made by Quarq, maybe?
A Stages power meter it does wonders on may triathlon training. Please please please, I want it so badly.
I’d probably get a power meter. Gotta verify my pathetic wattage output.
A new power meter, as my powerbeat died and there is no more support
probably a garmin 830. will have to wait until garmin fixes all their bugs though.
I would get the new FR945 for my self.
A garmin gps watch with music maybe.
I’m gonna get a Fly12 and Fly6 … really need to get some good cameras for my NYC bike commute.
I want a STAC Zero smart so I can ride silently but join the zwift revolution.
I would probably get the GoPro Hero 7 black. My current cheap knockoff takes horrible pictures.
A new gopro to use biking in city in case I get hit.
Power meter.
No longer have one.
A Stages Power Meter for my MTB, because it’s long overdue.
Thanks
I would get a Fenix 5 since I’m transitioning from single sport 2 dual Sports and it would be helpful
I would get the GoPro Hero 7 black because I don’t have an action camera and would like to get some mountain biking shots before I get too old to mountain bike!
Going for a nice running watch, probably Garmin fr945, trying to increase my runs
I’d like to try a Suunto 9 please… Battery life looks awesome.
I would love a fr945 to track some open water swims with!
I think I’d give the Coros Vertix a try – I do love my Garmin 945… but it’s very appealing to try something different.
I’d be torn between getting a power meter and a decent action cam.
A new GoPro camera would be nice for bike riding!
Would love to upgrade to a new Garmin 830, donate my current 130 to one of my non-gps riders from Gear Up Florida
An update on smart trainer, likely it will go towards a direct-drive unit, TBD.
Cheers!
Still looking for a power meter.
a new garmin 945 would be great as I now picked up cycling again
A new powermeter! My omd stages gen 2 doesn’t seem to have enough transmitting power for my garmin 920xt. Or a new garmin 945 should also solve the problem…
I think I’d get a GoPro Fusion – so I can record the adventures I’m going on with my friends with all of them in the frame!
an action camera would nice to film kids on holiday.
best of luck to everyone and have a great weekend
Garmin 945 to replace my 935
I would make good usage of a new watch…. 945 could be the one.
Might be a Garmin 945.
a powermeter for my bike
I’d probably go for a Garmin FR945 or a Fenix 5S Plus.
A new Fenix 5! I’m planning some hiking and bike touring trips and a do-it-all mulitsport watch would be perfect!
I guess an Edge 530 wouldn’t hurt
A pedal based power meter would be great
They have Finish Line dry lube for €0.00. I could buy an infinite number of bottles with my prize and still have change for a new Garmin watch :)
I’d put it towards a smart trainer. Hard to get out on the bike these days with a baby to look after.
I would get an optical hrm of some kind and probably something that gives me more data to analyze from my Garmin
Probably an Edge 830 or FR945 to test my CIQ apps.
Forerunner died last week so I’d love a chance to get the Garmin Forerunner 945!
A new Garmin for my husband — he’s obsessed with GPS watches and is always ogling over the latest release. What a perfect Fathers Day gift!
A trainer, so I could ride in my apartment! My dad would love that too!
Smart trainer. Time to see what Zwift is all about.
optical HR sensor, or maybe Wahoo bike computer
Powertap G3 Straight pull Disc Hub – as I want to track my power output for training splits and it looks cool
I just want to check sth. out of Garmin ecosystem: Stages L50 would be nice :)
I’d buy a Garmin 530 and put the rest toward a new trainer for my wife…. So, two happy winners in one here!
a new powermeter, because the Watteam Powerbeat 2-pack I had, has stopped functioning.
I’d get a GoPro Hero to video the cars nearlying killing me
my dad would love a new cycling computer! his edge_500 is on it’s last leg (changed the battery twice already :D)
Thanks for doin’ what you do, Ray.
I’d like a G3 power meter!
I’d get an edge 530 as the batter on my 520 seems to be dying a fast death.
Forerunner 945 (to replace my Polar M430). Actually Forerunner 935 is good enough for my needs but why not go for the newest one.
An action cam for the summer would be just the thing, just in time..!
A Quarq powermeter!
I would go for cycling computer. I’m going older and my eyes needs bigger data fields than available on hand watch (Fenix).
i’d get the gopro hero 7 as an upgrade over my hero 3 so i can ditch my gimbal setup.
I’d probably pick up a running watch with built in music. Probably a fancier one than I actually need.
I need a new cycling computer so I’d get the Garmin Edge 830!
A Fenix 5 plus or F945, because I could do with mapping for long trail runs!
Either a powermeter or new GoPro!
Been trying to win for several yrs, maybe this time. Would buy the Hero 7 Black.
A direct drive power trainer maybe? because it’s not yet hot enough here!
A Garmin because I’ve just broken the little tabs off the back of my current bike computer and it’s held on with tape.
Hmm, not sure what I’d get. If they sell Apple, I’d get a new watch. Otherwise I think a GoPro Hero 7 Black would be great. Make some cool action shots for my daughters blog link to ihithard.net
I’d love to get a powermeter! Just because more data is better. Just that. Oh, and maybe I can train better, more specific, who knows ;-).
I would like to get the Garmin FR945. Currently have teh 735 and looking to upgrade
A cycling GPS
I would go for the go pro or ifly camera. As a dad and a roadie my kids love seeing pictures of where I have ridden. A video would blow there mind. Thanks for all the awesome information you provide.
I’ll get whatever makes me faster – so no strawberry shortcake :(
Probably something power related. Thanks for doing this.
Garmin 945 for all those things that are missing from my Instinct.
I might get a GoPro. Or I don’t know! So many good choices!
I want to win because winning is awesome ? but also I think it would be cool to have some equipment like a new watch.
Radar for my wife and daughter’s bikes – I’m sure Garmin would appreciate their product on a beach cruiser
I’ve been wanting to invest in a power meter for some time. This would get me part of the way there!
As much as I would like a new watch, my husband is going to be running his first half marathon in the fall so I suooose, he needs his first gps watch
I would probably get Garmin Instinct for my dad :-)
Garmin fenix 5X Plus 51mm Sapphire Multisport GPS Watch. Why? Because I just need to have one. My 405 is dead.
I would get a power meter, as my Watteam powermeter gave up on life at the worst possible moment ?
Where to start? I’d love to add a power meter to my bike, but the battery on my 235 doesn’t hold up as well as it used to, so I’d love a FR245. And while my Edge 520+ has been great, it’s sooo slow to initially calculate routes >25 miles, so I’d definitely want to grab an Edge 530
The Gopro that records in 360º to make cool videos on the mountain/road bike :)
My father would like to have the FR945 cause he want to know how long are his long wolks :)
I’m trying not to have gear envy with the Forerunner 945 (my 935 is just fine), but I’d be willing to justify a Garmin Instinct as a backup watch.
Hello,
Most likely I will get myself a running watch!
A new cycling GPS
Favero assioma power meter!
i would get the FR945. not because I need it, but i want it :)
Garmin 945… my Fenix 3 just died ?
I think I’ll buy a new GoPro… or something else! :-)
I would by a powermeter for my MTB
