Today is Friday – you made it to the end of the week – and almost to the end of spring. But more importantly, today is also National Strawberry Shortcake Day (Don’t trust me? Look it up.) Unfortunately, I don’t expect to eat any Strawberry Shortcake today. Or tomorrow. And sure, I could have titled this ‘Father’s Day Gadget Giveaway’, but some countries celebrate that on other weekends (lookn’ at you, Australia).
In any case, it seems reason enough to give away some gadget goodness. But fear not, I won’t be restricting this to those in specific countries (Australia or otherwise). Anyone, anywhere on earth, is welcome to join as always. Also, I think we just need more cake holidays to have faux reasons for me to give stuff away. It’s been far too long.
The winner will get a $500 credit to CleverTraining.com, my most excellent partner in this giveaway crime. By supporting the site through Clever Training you also can save 10% on almost anything they sell (or get points instead). If you win, you can use that credit for anything from the GoPro Hero 7 Black (which is actually $70 off through Sunday, the lowest we’ve seen it), to the just shipping new Stages Dash units, to a random pair of socks, the Garmin Forerunner 945, or heck, even towards a new power meter. Whatever floats your boat (note: they don’t sell boats…wait, update, they do!). Also note, your credit is in US dollars, not Australian – otherwise you’d get less. Nobody wants less.
How to enter:
Simply leave a short description of what product you’d get and why (but don’t worry, you can change your mind later if you win). Or, you can leave a description of which product your dad would want for Father’s Day.
The reason you need a short description of ‘why’ is that if you just put a simple product name (i.e. FR945), you’ll likely get caught up in my SPAM filters. And nobody wants to be sandwiched between two pieces of SPAM. Got all that?
Good luck!
The giveaway entry period will run through Monday, June 17th, 2019 until 11:59PM US Eastern Time. Winner will be selected randomly. One entry per person. The selected product/products will then be ordered immediately and shipped immediately, assuming they’re in stock.

Probably a bike computer since I need help navigating outdoors!
I will get finally the Garmin Vector 2!
A garmin watch for my lovely wife who started running. 5s plus gold <3
A nice new trainer would be my first choice, I think.
A new gopro would be very nice!
I would be getting a couple of Vivofit Jr 2s for my sons in honour of father’s day (obviously I’m not Australian). Anything leftover would be Christmas in June for me!
Would definitely get a new trainer. It’s safer to ride inside than out when you live in DC.
A power meter! New bike needs one.
I would like a new Garmin 830 Edge mountain bike pack to replace my old edge and finally get maps!!!
I would go for a Wahoo Roam bike computer to replace Garmin.. I have encountered many of the same issues Ray discussed already.
Probably a Forerunner 245 Music. Why? No reason, my 230 is still fine, but having music that I didn’t put on a MP3 player 6 years ago would be nice.
I could use a new bike computer too, so maybe one of those freshly-shipping Stages head units
A new garmin edge, as my old 500 if quite well worn.
I love US dollars!
Either a new trainer or 4iiii power meter and some socks.
Garmin 945 for activities!
Man, after 4 years of basically 24/7 usage, my Fenix3 is no longer able to find the GPS satellites. So, I’d truly love a Garmin FR945…
Here’s wishing for a power meter. It would be nice to have watts and related metrics for my outdoor rides as well
I want to try one of the bike computers like the Garmin 830 or 530. I’m currently using a etrex Legend HCx that I bought in 2007. Its probably time for an upgrade :)
I would get myself one of the latest and greatest Garmin running watches. And maybe one for the gf :)
I’d prefer a boat, but a stand up paddle board is not a boat, so I’ll go for a left side crank arm power meter instead.
Garmin FR945. My 920xt has a failed altitude sensor and I’m racing 3 70.3 events in the next few months so need a working system.
A new power meter would be handy.
I would love a new trainer to replace my $69 mag trainer with thousands of miles on it. Thanks!

A Varia for my bike and maybe an upgrade to dual sided Assioma pedals!
Garmin Vector Pedals
I would probably get a trainer (tacx flux s)
Garmin watch to replace my existing watch with broken wrist wrap thingy.
An upgrade to my ageing farming 920XT!
I’d get the new flavor of the Garmin Varia. No matter what Bontrager says about WaveCell, the Varia is really the biggest innovation in rider safety equipment of the last few years.
I’d love a new bike computer!
Would def get power meter petals
I’d probably get the Forerunner 945. It has to be so nice to be able to run with the wireless earphones music on!!!

I’m getting a set of power meter pedals!
Necessities first: Last night I smashed the Garmin mount off my MTB with my knee whilst flying off the trail into some prickly bushes. So, some kind of MTB Garmin mount would be neat!
The leftovers? To blow it all on a new Edge 830 or put it toward a power meter for the MTB…
I’m seriously considering some aero bars to speed up my commute ride.
My Fly6 is getting long in the tooth
I’ve love a new Garmin running watch!
:::> Is it a Wahoo Kickr I see there? <:::
5s+ : enough of changing watches before every trip to the pool.
Have just got a new Ribble bike, id love a Trainer.
Thinking about retiring my 920xt. New 945? Fenix? Not quite sure.
I’d love a new garmin bike computer. Probably the 530. Or a new garmin multisport watch. Probably the 945.
I’d probably go for the SUP to give me the most enjoyable recovery time. That’s the area I need to improve the most. Or some kind of power meters to limit my biking efforts to a reasonable level, but I haven’t done the research on them yet.
Either a power meter or a head unit. Edge 530 would do nicely.
Need a new bike computer. The dash would be great
Garmin 830
I could use a new watch to replace my aging 920XT with a cracked and scratched screen :(
I would most definitely go get myself a Garmin Fenix
Probably a Cycliq or GoPro :-)
My bike was stolen recently, so $500 towards a new power meter would be nice.
Power meter. I’ve been riding for 8 years and just discovered the value of power numbers from my Wahoo Kickr riding Zwift. Now I would like to be able to use that on my road bike.
I need a power meter!
I’d finally get a GoPro – its been on the list for a while!
I would love to get a some sort of powermeter. Not that I expect it to improve my cycling (I have too little engine for that), but because I like data and it would be fun.
I would definitely go for a Go Pro so I can get some cool video of Gigantor, the huge snapping turtle that lives in my swimming pond.
I’d go for the new Garmin 945 for the music
I’d get myself a sweet DCR kit and the new Stages Dash bike computer
I would like to upgrade my Fenix 3?
No doubt, a Forerunner 945 is my first and last stop. Well, at least $500 toward a Forerunner 945. Music, maps, battery life. Need ’em. Badly. Thanks, Ray.
A new FR945 as the band on my 735 broke, ?
I want an 830.
I need a new smartwatch. My previous “waterproof” Garmin just fried during my beach vacation.

Garmin FR945 because the one that I have is already old! ;) and because I want something for free!! :)
Man I need a new kickr climb. Help a brother out.
Very original, but I would like the GoPro Hero 7 Black. Would be nice to get more stable footage compared to my Hero 3…
I’ll probably get a new power meter to replace my old set of BePro !
Was looking at those assioma pedals. Good luck everyone. Hope I win hehe :D
Don’t know yet…..
Would love the latest GoPro with its super-smooooth stabilised footage! ??
A new bike computer to get rid of my old Edge 500
A new running watch because my old Suunto is running on empty.
To be honest any smart watch by Garmin would be amazing :-)
An 830 for me!
A Tacx neo smart, ideal for building a strong winter base…
Certainly a new watch for my future triathlon activities
I would get the 945 to help me get into shape. Way too much watch for me but you got to aim high :-)
I want the FR945 because it has the most features and mosot of all best battery life.
I’ve been wanting to add power to my training so I’d be looking at a Quarq PM for my mountain bike.
Would love a new Garmin, my Forerunner 110 is pretty dated now so would go for the Forerunner 235 as it’s been recommended to me quite a few times.
I’d buy myself the Forerunner 945 / 645 as my Vivoactive 3 is playing up and refusing to charge half the time.
The rest, i’d probably spend on running gear. Can never have too much.
New Aero jersey and short
I would like a new smart trainer . . . probably Tacx Neo 2 because I currently have a noisy kickr 2018. :(
Most probably a bike computer, still have to decide what brand to pick
hmmm, i’m thinking maybe a gopro, or a drone? tough decisions, decisions…
Something from Suunto to use when running
Hmmmm….would really like a pedal-based power meter – either the Assioma or Vector 3’s.
Thanks!
I would like to get a Forerunner 945 and take advantage of the new:ish Firstbeat goodies like Training Balance and workout labels. Thank you.
