Today is Friday – you made it to the end of the week – and almost to the end of spring. But more importantly, today is also National Strawberry Shortcake Day (Don’t trust me? Look it up.) Unfortunately, I don’t expect to eat any Strawberry Shortcake today. Or tomorrow. And sure, I could have titled this ‘Father’s Day Gadget Giveaway’, but some countries celebrate that on other weekends (lookn’ at you, Australia).
In any case, it seems reason enough to give away some gadget goodness. But fear not, I won’t be restricting this to those in specific countries (Australia or otherwise). Anyone, anywhere on earth, is welcome to join as always. Also, I think we just need more cake holidays to have faux reasons for me to give stuff away. It’s been far too long.
The winner will get a $500 credit to CleverTraining.com, my most excellent partner in this giveaway crime. By supporting the site through Clever Training you also can save 10% on almost anything they sell (or get points instead). If you win, you can use that credit for anything from the GoPro Hero 7 Black (which is actually $70 off through Sunday, the lowest we’ve seen it), to the just shipping new Stages Dash units, to a random pair of socks, the Garmin Forerunner 945, or heck, even towards a new power meter. Whatever floats your boat (note: they don’t sell boats…wait, update, they do!). Also note, your credit is in US dollars, not Australian – otherwise you’d get less. Nobody wants less.
How to enter:
Simply leave a short description of what product you’d get and why (but don’t worry, you can change your mind later if you win). Or, you can leave a description of which product your dad would want for Father’s Day.
The reason you need a short description of ‘why’ is that if you just put a simple product name (i.e. FR945), you’ll likely get caught up in my SPAM filters. And nobody wants to be sandwiched between two pieces of SPAM. Got all that?
Good luck!
The giveaway entry period will run through Monday, June 17th, 2019 until 11:59PM US Eastern Time. Winner will be selected randomly. One entry per person. The selected product/products will then be ordered immediately and shipped immediately, assuming they’re in stock.

Would love a power meter – I’m one short across my bikes!
Garmin forerunner 45s … or 245. Still debating ;)
Thanks for the amazing produkt reviews, keep it up Ray!
For sure a Garmin 945. My Fenix has been great, but I would love something lighter that I could listen to podcasts without taking along a running belt just to hold a phone. Have a great weekend!
I would put the winnings towards a power meter or a smart trainer.
Looking at upgrading my action camera so maybe the latest hero
I would buy that power meter I’m postponing for so long
New cycle computer. I hate my Edge 820. So maybe the Stages L50
a new running watch!
smart trainer obv
I’d like a Garmin 945 to better track my training off the bike
Gopro 7 it is – because my 4th generation does start feeling a bit old
I would love to get one of the new GoPro’s to start filming more activities. I think my kids would love to put one on their bikes as well.
Im really enjoying the fitbit environment and would love to try some new stuff out
Put it towards a Kickr, and work on this dad bod I’m getting, even though I don’t have kids… hmmmm
Garmin 945
I would buy my husband a new power meter!
I’d love the latest Garmin watch
I would love a power meter. Preferably pedal based
No doubt, a power meter, more data best training
Thanks Ray
It’d have to be a new 530 or 830. Perhaps the wife could wrap it up as a Fathers Day present from my little lad.
Probably a garmin varia or cycliq fly. Thanks
Hi.
The GoPro Hero 7 to upgrade to 4K instead of the 720p I got with my current action cam.
Hmmm, An action camera or two would be very nice. I am not sure I want to know how close cars get sometimes.
Garmin 520 Plus…better mapping!
I just purchased the Garmin Bontrager Edge 1030 so likely something power meter based.
I need a new bike computer. Edge 830 looks sweet!
I would get stryd pods so I can start running with POWER!
Our Blue Heeler needs a GoPro. :-)
Remix watch!
hi, id like to get me a new wetsuit or swim watch to swim 11x 2km in the link to 11stedenzwemtocht.nl for the fight agains cancer.
I would like a power meter for my road bike. It is time to upgrade my garmin speed sensor/fenix 5 combo so why not go big!
A Fr 945 would be great because it’s slimmer than the fenix 5.
I’d like to have a new Garmin 945
I’ve an edge 1000 that’s very much circling the drain (started to behave strangely on and off, gotten slow, power button about to give way etc) so an upgrade to a new 830 or maybe 1030 would be a good way to keep track of training/suffering during the current Irish summer (we’re thinking or renaming the months to Junetober, Julvember and Augtember and passing regulations so that all cycling kit is made out of thermal water resistant materials to minimise human suffering…)
Ooooh, gadgets! My dad would probably want a GoPro, the lazy bugger, but I’d get him a multisport watch like the Fenix 5 Plus to get him back on his bike!
I will choose a power meter for my mtb
I’d love a 945 because it tracks stress etc. Really interrested in trying to measure that!
New bike computer or gps watch. Ambit2 is getting old…
I’d love to pick up powermeters for my race bike so I don’t have to carry my trainer around outdoors and still being able to measure my rides properly. I think the Powertap P2 Power Pedals would be my favourites for this purpose. Easier to move around with than my Tacx Neo…
I know it’s going to sound kind of lame, but I think I’d get the Garmin Varia tail light, and then add the Wahoo Climb (Clymb?) to my home trainer.
The Varia light for safety while riding.
It seems like a good idea, but the price just doesn’t seem justified when my $12 helmet mirror provides at least 50% of the benefit.
And the Climb to keep me from being on the road when it’s either busy or rainy.
I’d like the Garmin 945… or cycling computer… or…
Forerunner 945, for sure!
Garmin Edge 530 and a backlight camera
I’d like the Garmin 945… or cycling computer… or…
Hi Ray, I live in Massachusetts just north of Boston. I’ve started doing some long exploration rides up into the mountains of Vermont. In some of the remote areas I don’t get a cell signal. My wife worries about me. For that reason I’d like to get a Garmin InReach mini. Love your work and the podcast with Shane.
Thanks
I think I’d put it toward a Fenix 5S. :-)
My wife’s ultra distances are exceeded her Garmin 235 battery capacity so she keeps borrowing mine or my son’s watch. She needs something new!
I’d love a Garmin watch, with the 945 being the pinnacle. Something to track pace when running, help out with nav while hiking, interface with the bike sensors/Edge 530, and allow me to see what time it is without getting distracted. A power meter wouldn’t suck, either.
I’d use it to buy an action camera like the new GoPros. I often think how great it would be to document some of my rides, but haven’t been able to justify the price tag to myself.
$500 worth of socks
Garmin 945. Ready to upgrade from Vivoactive.
Would invest in Favero Assioma powermeter. Thats what I need:)
Hmmmmm, power meter or partial payment on a trainer for next winter???
A Wahoo Elemnt because I’m tired of using CatEye!
My first power meter
I’d go for the FR945 as I’m storting to look at replacing my fenix3. Daddy needs some new toys!
A Garmin Edge 830 should it be
I started cycling, so I would like to get the Garmin 530.
Thank you.
I’d buy a set of Favero Assioma pedals so I can train with power on both my road bike and my triathlon bike without the hassle of swapping rear wheels. I currently have a Powertap wheelset that spends most of it’s time on my road bike, as that’s what I ride the most.
Power meter to see how many Watts I’m not producing
Wahoo bike computer to replace my aging Garmin Edge.
GoPro. Swimming need some help and video analysis is needed.
I would love Garmin 530 edge to push me onto the next level of cycling at 60 yrs of age
Need a power meter for the new whip!
Hero 7 to record my rides
Because I’m a dad sometimes the need to be home with the kids prevents me from getting in a workout. So I’d get the new Tacx Neo Trainer so that I could get in an interval workout without having to leave my kids home alone. Seems like if I had a trainer I could get in an interval workout before they even get out of bed!
I’d get a Qark power meter to dial my training to the next level!
A power meter or the new Garmin 945!
Definitely a bike computer as I’m injured and can’t run for the foreseeable future! Thanks for doing this!
A new Garmin Edge 830 or perhaps a Fenix 5 plus
Replacement for my old v800. Preferable something small and beautiful.
Could really do with an upgrade to FR945. My FR230 is getting tired.
I love my Fenix, but I think it is time to go with the new Forerunner 945.
Looking to upgrade my Fenix 5X. Could really use the credit.
Daddy needs a new power meter!!
Wahoo Element Bolt for my Bike and a Garmin Forerunner 935 Tri bundle.
I’d love to get a smart trainer as Charleston has zero hills to train on.
I’d buy a Garmin Edge 830, so my wife can have hers 820 for herself ;-)
A power meter for my bike to improve my cycling skills.
A Garmin watch
GoPro would be very nice. Never had one before.
FR 945 should be nice ! A dream to navigate from the wrist :-)
I’m leaning towards the new garmin watch, but since the camera I use on my commute was damaged in a recent crash (along with broken bones etc.), I guess the more sensible choice would be a replacement camera.
I would get a 945, sell my 935 and get my husband a 245 :)
IQ2 power meter ….. haha No! but would love some Favero Assioma‘s!!!
I would buy the Tacx Flux S. My cheap Performance Bicycle trainer is starting to wear out and has too low of a power limit for my training.
I’d like a new watch because Suunto have stopped supporting my Ambit 2!
Well..I already bought a Garmin 830 based on your review so if I win…and I’ve never won anything..I’d go for a power meter. Fingers crossed. Thanks.
New power meter, since it’s time for a new bike!
The new garmin forerunner. My 910xt is starting to get a little buggy…
a power meter!! i’ve wanted one for years
Epix needs An epic update!
FR945, need a good watch for real training, Apple Watch S2 isn’t cutting it!
World like the edge 830
A direct drive trainer! All this calibration is driving me nuts since my wife and I share our wheel on trainer.
A Garmin fênix 5 plus, please…
My dad is turning 88 this year – he’s not that into sport technology. He like’s his wine. Not sure what I would be interested in, maybe upgrade my garmin 520?
Favero assioma power pedals
I would love a Garmin 830, riding with Garmin for a long time. Love to have onze with little buffer screen and more options
Definitely in need of luggage for bikepacking
frame bags and saddle bags :)
