The Didn’t Get What You Wanted $500 Gadget Giveaway

DSC_4548

I’m sure many of you received various sports gadgets over the last few weeks as part of the holidays.  But for those unlucky elves who received only a half-eaten gel packet in their Christmas stocking from their not-so-significant others, I’ve got a festivus of a present for you: This giveaway.

The winner will get a $500 credit to CleverTraining.com, my most excellent partner in this giveaway crime.  By supporting the site through Clever Training you also can save 10% on basically anything they sell (or get points instead).  If you win, you can use that credit for anything from the GoPro Hero7 Black to a Fitbit Versa smartwatch to a random pair of socks to the Favero Assioma power meter, or heck, even towards a new trainer.  Whatever floats your boat (note: they don’t sell boats or even other vessels like submarines).

How to enter:

Simply leave a short description of what product you’d get and why (but don’t worry, you can change your mind later if you win).

The reason you need a short description of ‘why’ is that if you just put a simple product name (i.e. F5), you’ll likely get caught up in my SPAM filters.  And nobody wants to be sandwiched between two pieces of SPAM.  Got all that?

Good luck!

The giveaway entry period will run through Friday, December 28th, 2018 until 11:59PM US Eastern Time.  Winner will be selected randomly.  One entry per person.  The selected product/products will then be ordered immediately and shipped immediately, assuming they’re in stock.

A Fénix 5 plus. I think is the most complete and versatile watch on the market right now and will sure come in handy when training

  2. Alan

most likely the Garmin Vector 3 pedals

  3. Luca Rossetti

Favero Assioma a italian powermeter for a DCRainmaker italian fan

  4. The new Hero 7 Black is definitely on my dream list. Hyper smooth is perfect for cycling, especially cyclocross! I have a Session 5, but without a gimbal… it’s just too jittery(even for warp stabilization in Premier). Thanks for the fantastic content!

  5. Jimmy Strack

I’d put it towards a Fenix 5+. I love my FR645, but would like the more ruggedness from the fenix series. Plus, I could give my 645 to my wife.

  6. Pascal D.

a power meter, not sure which brand

  7. Carlos A Vazquez

Probably money towards a new trainer. Direct drive would be nice.

    Fenix 5 maybe.

  18. Ward

Fenix5. This is the only way to get one without risking a divorce. ?

I missed out on a promotion for the new Hero 7, can’t believe I hesitated, so now that’s on the top of my list. Here’s hoping I’m successful, but at least I haven’t hesitated in getting my entry in!

  29. Kevin

A new turbo trainer. Need to join the Zwift revolution with a smart trainer

  30. Alex R

Probably power pedals because going by hr is even more difficult in winter.

  31. Mate

I would get a Garmin Descent MK1, because it seem like the most convenient watch for free diving/spearfishing (and unloading the data from the watch) in addition to other sports activities.
BTW, if you have any other suggestions, please let me know.

  32. Leah Gregory

I’d love to get a new watch

    Dear Santa DCRainmaker (Ray),

I would like to get a power-meter (maybe the Pioneer Shimano Dura-Ace R9100 Crankset Power Meter) to satisfy my deep lust for data, and data driven results. I’m never going to win a race, but it’d be nice to know I personally did better than my last result, or how I compare in indoor training on zwift over outdoor riding.

  46. Ed Fish

    I would like a Polar Vantage V

  47. Kyle

I would like one of them fancy new wristwatches I keep hearing so much about, much more convenient than this sundial.

  54. Fab

I received several random pairs of socks, so unwillingly i have to choose something else. cycling powermeter is too much for my cycling skills, so latest GoPro will do.
