Have some fun in the travel section.
I travel a fair bit, both for work and for fun. Here’s a bunch of random trip reports and daily trip-logs that I’ve put together and posted. I’ve sorted it all by world geography, in an attempt to make it easy to figure out where I’ve been.
My Photography Gear: The Cameras/Drones/Action Cams I Use Daily
The most common question I receive outside of the “what’s the best GPS watch for me” variant, are photography-esq based. So in efforts to combat the amount of emails I need to sort through on a daily basis, I’ve complied this “My Photography Gear” post for your curious minds (including drones & action cams!)! It’s a nice break from the day-to-day sports-tech talk, and I hope you get something out of it!

Probably a Suunto watch so I can compare their platform with Garmin.
I would get either the latest GoPro or a Garmin Fenix 5. My current GoPro is simply aging…it’s a 3 and I want to replace my Garmin 920xt with something more “professional” looking.
A power meter, Favero Assioma probably.
I’d get a Garmin Edge 1030, because I’m not sure how polished the Karoo is going to be when (if) it finally comes.
I need a new cycling action camera, I I keep nearly getting hit by cars, so a Fly6/12 combo!
I got my eye on a Garmin Edge 820 so my old and battered Edge 510 can finally retire.
Garmin Vector 3’s – Oh man…. I NEED!
A new garmin, likely the 935 or maybe two vivoactive (one for me one for the hubs)
The GoPro 6 would probably be my choice, because my action cam is old and not very good…
Excellent!!, I will get a gopro hero Camera or maybe a Power meter
I’d go for a varia front and rear light combo, which would make cycling on a winters night much easier and safer. I’d have said Vector 3, but I’ve just placed an order for them this week
I would get a fenix 5!
I’d like a shiny new Forerunner 935 to help me keep my training on track for this year, racing trains and horses and on the snowdonia marathon.
Wahoo 2017 kicker snap
Because I foolishly bought 2 computrainers a week before your trainer reviews in 2016!!!
Garmin vector 3. Need it to be able to swap power meter between my tri bike and my road bike. Could be awsome!
Hey Ray,
Nice Idea and thanks to you and CT.
I’g with GoPro Hero 6.
GOPRO Hero 6
Maybe a new watch?
I would get a GoPro Session as a complement to my GoPro Hero 5
def Wahoo Bolt – curious to use something new and replace my 820 :)
A fenix 5
The Garmin Fenix 5 looks tempting, because my old Polar HR watch has seen better days, although those Big Agnes tents look interesting. Didn’t know Clever Training did camping stuff.
I believe it would be time for a power meter
id spend it on a garmin edge1030 because I need a new garmin product to fuss over
I want to get a Garmin Vivoactive 3 as I am training for my first 5k ever.
Garmin Vector 3, I need new pedals so might as well get a PM.
Just put in an order for the 645M, so a quieter trainer would be a great addition.
anything but the purple heart rate band :) .
I would like a new smart trainer, Matt need to read the reviews again to decide which one.
I would love to get a set of Vector 3 pedals, why? Because one can never have enough power meters…
Vector 3 please!
Maybe a Garmin 935. Or a powermeter.
I would get a wheel off trainer. Don’t know which, but something quiet.
Sunto watch to compare with Garmin
Thanks
I’d definitely use the Vector 3 power meter. It’s a much needed product to take my training to the next level.!!!
I would probably get a Fly 6 Ce and a smart scale.
FR645 or a trainer for my bike… let’s see!!!
Ray,
I would order the Vector 3’s pedals!
Thanks
I woud like the new Forerunner 645.
Nee match, because mine is brokem
Great initiative.
The money will be well spend on a direct drive smart trainer to boost the indoor trainings during the bad weather.
I’d go for the camera to document my rides
I would get a GoPro Fusion ’cause I dig 360 ;-)
a power meter !
Wahoo climb to make zwift more interesting
I would get a suunto spartan to upgrade muy old polar rc3 GPS
Power meter for upcoming new bike or trainer for long Canadian winters. Thanks.
I would put toward a direct drive fec trainer to make use of while the UK is cold and wet!
Garmin Vector 3 pedals would be nice to have now that I have seen how important power meters are after using a smart trainer for a while
A suunto Spartan will be awesome, then a can run on the trails all day
I would pick up a fenix 5 to replace my f3
I would get a trainer. Have 2 kids my training time is limited. living in Ohio, my bike time is even more limited. I’d hope I can use the trainer to do some riding while the kids sleep.
I suspect it would be a power meter. Which means more reading and research!
Oh hello. I would probably get a new Fenix, or maybe a 935. Cuz my old watch is…old.
Definitely the Garmin Vector Pedals, cos everyone needs power
I’d put the credit towards the Garmin Vector 3 power meter – I’m enjoying training with power on the KICKR so much that I fear I’ll stay in the garage for most of the summer unless I get a power meter for the summer bike!
Forerunner 645 or Suunto Spartan :)
I’d love the Garmin Vector 3 Power Meter.
I want a sunnto watch
The Vectors would be awesome
The Scosche’s New Rhythm 24 to start with and the remainder towards something more expensive
The GoPro Hero 6 for me – perfect for sport and special family moments. And I could take it to the Faroe Islands for my 40th this summer!
It’s time to replace my ancient Powertap hub powermeter, because it tends to read 0 Watts when it’s too cold. I’d probably get the new Garmin 3S Vectors.
Vivoactive3 for the Mrs.
Some sort of power meter
i’ll go for the fenix 5 to replace my ambit 2s for hiking & running. it will be nice to have syncing with phone app, but it was nice to continue hiking while charging with the phone still tracking on my arm.
A running watch or the new schoche would make my year
GoPro Hero 6… except they don’t ship in France ! I would need to find something else ;)
Off the top of my head, I’d say the GoPro Karma Grip since I just got a Hero6 Black… although I’m hot for a drone, so maybe I’ll put it towards a spark or the new air, although my wife said she’d leave me if I got a drone. Let’s call her bluff, Ray!
Garmin 935 to replace my fenix2 whose barometer and thermometer have died
Hmmm… probably a Garmin Edge 1030… or five-sixths of one at current prices. Why? Why not?!
I really want the Garmin 935 for my first Ironman! Thanks and gig ’em!
I’ve been upping my running game, so I’ll blow it on running gear like a new watch and stuff. I’m sure I won’t have a problem finding something to spend it on.
Vector Power Meter – because I need a new Power Meter
Garmin Vivoactive3 for me and Vivosmart3/sport for my ‘girl’
Decisions, decisions . . . Camera? Pedals for power? New watch? Ahhhhh!
Upgrade to the FR645 would be nice.
Well I would say Vector 3 but I do quite like my Vector 2 hidden in the Ultegra pedals.
I’d probably go Edge 1030 to upgrade from the 1000
I want to fund the purchase of a new trainer! Wahoo Kickr!
Garmin Forunner 935. Time to upgrade 910xt
I would probably put it toward the Hero6, since you do not have to put a case on it for waterproofing. Since I mainly use it for swim videos that would be much easier to deal with.
I’d probably opt for one of the new Garmin Fenix models as I’m still on the older Fenix 3 model without HR. Thanks for doing this!
Running Shoes! I am going through then on a rapid basis as I train for a marathon.
Put it towards a kickr….. because my Vortex Smart just gave up the ghost.
A new Wahoo Kickr, match!
Wahoo kickr
I’d probably pick up a new bike trainer so I can pass my current one on to my best friend. That way, he can keep training over the winter and can be real competition come summer :)
For me that would be a set of the Vector 3, at least once they really become available.
I’d go for a Direto. World be great for a modern indoor Training. This Would help me gaining back quickly some fitness after a longer break.
I would dearly love a new Forerunner 645, HRM strap and footpod to replace my current 620. I just streamed Spotify from my Samsung Gear Fit2 on my other wrist and the battery went from 100 to 0 in less than a 10k! Guh.
Fenix 5 Watch- Because they are awesome or Maybe New GoPro, cause I never have one.
Right on – a gopro, as my exploits are likely epic.
I would buy a Wahoo Bolt because my Garmin 820 is garbage and currently only lasts 75 minutes for winter training rides. Garmin wants $110 to replace the battery so I am done with them. The start button also is super hard to press so I’m over wanted to live with this computer. Your reviews on the Wahoo make me want to do the switch so now is the time!
Fenix 5X because Garmin is leaving the F3 behind….
would like garmin vector pedals if I win, so I can improve at zwift
Wahoo Element for me! Perfect companion for the Kickr!
Woooot! Thanks Ray. I absolutely need a Garmin 935.
Enjoy the South
A new pair to trail runners. An activity tracker and a Yetti cooler. Time for a hike!
I would get the Garmin Vector 3 power meter… I have the P1 but would like to have an all Garmin product line between bike computer and HR monitor. I’m a Garmin wh*re.
I’d go for a new garmin for the hubby like the new vivoactive or toward a new wahoo kicker.
