Marine Corps Marathon!
This weekend I need to find a 2-3% grade incline that lasts a half-mile to start doing “accordion runs”, per my coach. Sounds like a fun workout: Up the hill at my 10K pace, back down to the start before I hit my target half-marathon mile pace time, start again at exactly the HM-mile-pace time. So I’ll be going up the hill at 7:10/mi (3:35), and then have just shy of four minutes to make it back to the start to go again at 7:30.
Lots of mountain biking!
End of season break. Cross “training” with some mountain biking on Saturday and hiking on Sunday.
Cycling hill training til exhaustion. Then cycle back home.
2 days – 3 ice hockey games – 3 wins – go for it!
Gonna do an 11 mile run, and then carve pumpkins of course!

This weekend on Saturday, we are racing the Seaside ten miler in Ocean City, MD along the boardwalk. Sunday we are doing a free 5k to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the National Park Seevice at Assateague National Seashore.

I planned a short 5k training run and an orienteering competition.

I’m waiting eagerly for my 4iii power meter to arrive today and then will be skipping all of my planned rest-week TrainerRoad weekend workouts to test it outside with some local hills and flats to satisfy my inner geek.

I have a 3-hour long-slow-distance run scheduled on Saturday as part of my training for an upcoming marathon in December, and I’ll carry my battery pack for my phone with me so I can leave Pokemon GO running to rack up a bunch of candies for my pokemon buddy, thanks to the Halloween event they have going on. ;)
Yes, I am a grown man, a runner, and I enjoy playing Pokemon GO. :p ;)
