Nothing but rest and recovery for me this past weekend. I did manage to keep an elevated heart rate Friday, Saturday, and Sunday while watching the Cleveland Indians try to close out this World Series. #RollTribe

This weekend for a change was golf, single bike riding and tandem riding! How’s that for variety?

An easy weekend with a short tempo run on Saturday and enjoying the weather watching soccer on Sunday.
On the docket for the weekend just gone was a season ending duathlon. Fancy dress style. Fun times!

Sunday 30th I ran the Frankfurt Marathon – with 15000 others.
today will be just opening the door and giving out sweets to the kids in our neighbourhood – perfect recovery
next Sunday? we´ll see, there´s an unusual small Marathon planned here in Hamburg – with less than 50 others :)
A couple of rides on the trainer, getting the legs back.
11 miles on the bike. First ride in almost 3 months & after 7 weeks in a boot. It was GREAT to get out & do something! Anything!
Two runs: a 5k and one as long as i can make it…
So in between taking my wife away to celebrate her birthday and then trying to be a good father, I’m not home routinely mon-fri, I tried to squeeze a 30 min treadmill speed session in. It latest 23min where upon my wife came in with the meant to be sleeping 11month old to inform that the 2 year old had weed on the floor and I needed to stop! Weekend training over- (excluding mowing lawns, bins,laundry and carrying small children around) who needs a gym!

Of course, yes, I want to win this…. this weekend was my time to rest of for next weekend: the New York City Marathon. And to have a GoPro when I go there, would mean to be able to show my mom, who is in a nursing home with the paralysing illness Guillain Barré Syndrome, that I am living my life to the fullest – making my dreams real. Because you never know what will happen tomorrow.

Managed to get a 14 mile training run in despite being diagnosed with vertigo last week. It was a challenge but the weather was too good to miss out on.
