The most common question I receive outside of the “what’s the best GPS watch for me” variant, are photography-esq based. So in efforts to combat the amount of emails I need to sort through on a daily basis, I’ve complied this “My Photography Gear” post for your curious minds (including drones & action cams!)! My Polar was stolen a year ago and iv’e been running without a watch ever since
So i guess a new watch would be nice:)
I would love to get my mum a garmin forerunner 230 as I have recently got her into running and with her birthday just round the corner it would be a perfect gift for her.
Power meter please DCrainmaker. I’ve never owned one
I’ll get the powermeter. Or a trainer. Or a Garmin. Argh, too many choices to make.
There would be a Garmin Edge 1000 calling my name…
A BSX Insight would be cool because you can never wear enough gadgets on your body during a workout!
After picking up a Tacx Vortex Smart, I’d love to pick up a proper power meter for the summer. Based your your recommendations Ray, I would love to put that towards the PowerTap P1 pedals.
I’d get FR235, it has everything a runner would need and very compact.
I would love the Garmin Fenix watch to really dial in my training as I take on my first 100 mile race this year!
I would buy a power meter I need this for my winter workout!
A powermeter would be awesome!
I think……perhaps not……birthdays wouldn’t be the same anymore….bragging about how much power you can deliver is broken down to a : “Prove it!”, ehe……
O well I still like to get one!….I will just train more so i can prove i can peddle to the power.
Garmin 630 or 635
A Garmin Edge 520, because my 310XT works just fine, and I have no valid reason what so ever to spend more money on toys.
Forerunner 235 as it combines 24/7HR monitoring and activity tracking with the highly accurate chest belt hrm and cycling functionality.
I would get either a Garmin or a power meter. Thanks
Garmin Fenix3
Because it’s the best of both worlds: GPS Watch & Smart Watch
Wahoo Kickr or a new Garmin 235
Was hoping for a Edge 520 but got a Park Tool Bike stand in stead.
I would like a ANT+ speed and cadence sensor for my Kestrel 4000ltd (and maybe a Garmin 3 to go).
Ambit 3 — need the boosted battery life for cold, winter ultras!
Either credit to a Kickr or the 920. I’d love an integrated zwift/trainer combo but a new watch would also be great
I would get a Fenix 3 since my current watch is slowly breaking down.
4iii powermeter. I think a powermeter can help advance my training.
Garmin Fenix3 please.
I think a powermeter would help :)
I would love to be able to purchase the Tacx Neo. I can’t hear the movie I’m watching when I ride. A quite Trainer would be amazing!
A Garmin Fenix 3 as I’m in need of an upgrade
Garmin fenix!
A Garmin 520 will be nice upgrade for next season training
A Garmin forerunner 235, I’d like to test out the integrated heart rate censor!
Hey Ray! I would like to get a trainer, because the weather conditions in northern europe do not benefit my training in winter!
Thanks!
I’d use it to make a big dent in the price towards either a Tacx Neo or KICKR to help keep the missus and neighbours happy! Oh yeah and put a smile on my face and that equals less reasons not to train!
It’s a long list for me. But probably at the top would be a wahoo kickr, $500 off may get me to actually spring for it!
I was hoping for a garmin 920 eeek a bit expensive only because I cannot see my tom tom (the joys of getting old ) which I am perservering with !! Love to win ….. happy holidays
So many possibilities…power meter tops the list. I would need to review (again) Ray’s primer to choose the right one.
I’d go for one of the 4iiii Power Meters because it’s about time I started training with power!
I have had a lot of heart rate monitors, but I often find that I miss the strap when I want to know what my heart rate is in everyday life. If I win I will buy the new Garmin Forerunner 235.
the 4iii powermeter for sure!!!
The new Garmin forerunner 235. It seems like a perfect watch for running without the chest strap.
I’d like a Fenix 3,because it’s really the one which seems the best!! Have a wonderfull and sporty new year!!
Probably a second power meter so I can set myself up on a commuter specific bike to save my race bike from wear and tear!
The Garmin Fenix 3, so I can Virb every ride, run, and row.
I would upgrade my garmin since I gave my husband my new polar because it was just too big for my liking.
I’d go for the Garmin FR235, time to stop relying on my standard watch and google maps to figure out stats, not to mention the 24/7 HR monitoring
Happy Holidays. I would pick a power meter if I won. I was thinking the vector 2 or 4iiii.
I want the freaking spaceship AKA Tacx Neo!
I’d go for a 920xt Tri Bundle please Santa!
I’d get an Etrex 650 for hiking and a Garmin FR 520 for training because the Fenix 2 I have doesn’t work terribly well for either.
I could really use the Garmin 920XT. My old 910 is a workhorse, but that 920 could be worn everyday as a watch. Thanks for all your reviews!!
Ohhh, definitely a power meter. Bring on the Powah data.
I would love to get a power meter. Maybe Powertap P1 Power Pedals.
A garmin fenix 3, to mess with connectiq on a round device!
A Garmin Fenix 3 would be awesome for my new ski trip :-)
I’d buy a power meter. Really want to test it out.
I would get a Fenix3 for sure. Why? Because I really need to know the incline of that climb that almost kills me almost every week!
I would upgrade my Fenix 2 to Fenix 3 :)
I’d look for a new GPS watch to replace my Garmin XT310, and add features like sleep tracking, step counting and maybe an optical HRM.
I would use the credit to buy a Garmin Forerunner 920XT. I am an aging runner, love everything about it but my body is falling apart. The logical step for me is to enter the sport of triathlons, giving my legs a break from the continuous pounding.
I’d go for the Fenix 3. Thanks!
I would go for a 4iiii power meter!!!
Fenix 3, but I have a feeling the fenix for is coming soon
A power2max power meter is all I really want…. for now.
Would really love some powertap pedals SP1
I would like a Wahoo kickr. Since I need to do much of my training inside next season.
Vivosmart HR + Weigh scale, to finally get rid of the extra kilos!
Fenix 3 – My Garmin 910 died a terrible death and I’m completely lost without it.
I think the following message will pop out of R2D2 – Help me DCRainmaker – you’re my only hope. :)
STAGES SHIMANO ULTEGRA 6800 for my new Giant Defy Advanced 1 I got for Xmas
eyes behind my head via Garmin Varia Radar…
My RFLKT+ only is as wonderful as the lifetime of my worn iphone battery… so I’m contemplating on a possible replacement/upgrade…
A fenix 3 or a 920xt
Garmin 520
A new smart trainer would be great to make the trainer workouts go by faster.
I would go with the Fenix 3 because I like it better than a damn apple watch.
A new trainer, indeed! I would train harder, I promise!
Another Garmin to count the laps I swim at work.
I would buy a Ambit 3 Sport Saphire: Well for Training to Marathons, good looking at work.
I would get a Garmin 920 to replace my Vivoactive. The Vivoactive is great, but the 920 is better for triathlons.
Maybe a Fenix 3, 920XT or a TomTom Spark to replace my Motoactv. I may need more than one but the $500 credit will go a long way.
I would buy a powermeter bc its long overdue and need it to structure my workouts.
I would buy a Fenix 3 sapphire bc I could also wear it at work for biz meetings.
I’d go for the Tacx trainer. Why? Because I have kids and can’t get out on the bike as much as I’d like too. Once a week is the best I can do…but usually less than that. Trainer = riding every day…Joy!
f3 :) Could live without it, but really want it.
Ray
I would like a 4iiii or Garmin 520
Happy new year
Thank you
Gonzalo
I would like to get the Fenix 3 Saphire because seems the best GPS multisport watch today, and I do not have the money to get it.
A head unit…. Since I don’t have one
That is simple: I already have a 920xt, but that is not very suited for everyday use – it is a bit bulky – so I want a fenix 3…
I’d use the $500 towards a new direct drive trainer since my Kurt Kinetic damages the dropouts on my Specialized bikes.
The Wahoo Kickr so I can train over the winter
I’m looking for a new helmet, something like Giro Synthe would be ideal.
A new Garmin FR235 running watch to use in place of my 910XT.
Go Pro video camera and GPS watch
I would get a new running watch or bike computer.
I would absolutely get the Fenix 3, been wanting this for a long time.
I think i’d put it towards a Kickr
I would LOVE to have the Go Pro Hero 4 Silver. Why? Because today (Tuesday) is my birthday and a tech gadget would make awesome!
4iiii power meter…have power on my Kickr, now it’s time to take it to the real road!
We would love to have a FR230 + Vivoactive.
Wife and I
I would purchase the Garmin 630 .. I’ve been waiting for a long time to upgrade my vivofit but needed DC rainmakers reviews to help me make a final decision …
I would love to get an edge 520, my 800 is slowly dying…
I would grab a garmin 520 with all the bells and whistles! no more phone mounted to the handlebars.
