First xc running race of the year yesterday, slow 10k run today followed by resistance based circuit training this afternoon
This afternoon getting on my bike for just a smooth ride, loosening my legs in preparation of the Vencie Marathon in 2 weeks time.
Couldn’t ride or run this weekend, but cheered on my mate Cam in IM Kona (from a distance).

A couple of 0400 rides into the Japanese mountains.
Saturday pootle along the taff trail with the wife and baby, combine the urge to try out my new CX and the need to spend time with the family. Spot of lunch and a coffee at the turnaround.
Sunday load up the van with our bikes, wife 2 older daughters and baby, and head out for a few hours, combining crossing the severn bridge by bike with trying to see a Vulcan bomber fly over. Follow it up with a few hard miles on Zwift to feel like i’ve pushed myself a little this weekend.
Couple of swim sessions in the local outdoor pool and some fell running in the Peak District
Exploring for new trails to ride off the popular areas.
Looking after the kids and trying as much of Amstel Gold on a Tacx Genius as I can with a foot I can’t really walk on – I shall use that as my prime excuse as I grind to a halt half way a berg… ;)
So lazy I missed Kona, even from the couch.
Saturday – 4 hours endurance ride with 2 hours tempo in the middle. Sunday – 2.5 hrs endurance with 10 random full effort 10 sec sprints peppered through the ride.
Marathon training – end of aerobic base period and transferring into the mileage buildup.

This is the last weekend recovering from an operation i had in hospital two months ago.
Two months without training just watching all kinds of sports on tv yeamingly.
Did a group shop ride on Saturday, amd on Sunday I’m going to take my dog and ride some trails.

PS.: The bike ride in the rain involved attaching an old Nexus One smartphone to the stem using an armband and running MAPS.ME. It didn’t work out particularly well and I’m sure a Garmin Edge would work much better. :-)

Training plans for Thanksgiving weekend involve eating too much turkey and going for a short walk amongst the turning leaves.
Unexpectedly neatly, I did 8 miles on Friday, 9 miles yesterday and 10 miles today.
On each day I smashed between 6-10 PBs on various segments (different routes each time).
Those who wish to scoff at the measly distances, go ahead. I’m dead proud of myself.
Gym training this weekend, then maybe a light recovery ride around lake Burley Griffen
Weekend training plans: Saturday, 30 mile club ride with friends followed by tavern food. Sunday, 8 mile run followed by upper body workout pushing a noisy, four wheeled device over 1 acre of grass.
Being in Bavarian on vacation offers the opportunity to run some meters up and down. That’s fun!
Got 60k done on the bike yesterday… 10k run on the cards for Sunday.
Spending Canadian thanksgiving weekend visiting family out of town. So just a couple of easy runs (followed by a lot of eating).

For this weekend I had to skip swim training since I am still recovering from a cold. Instead I took my girlfriend on a 30 mile recovery ride today in the lovely October sun.
Training plan for me is a simple Freeletics session on the Saturday to mix it up in the park, and then a 10k jog on the Sunday to relax.
Watched the Jensie Gran Fondo – maybe next year I’ll ride it and be using the Garmin 520!
The 520 is nice and compact for all the mtb and road rides!
Off to ride on the awesome MCT trails in Illinois.
