It’s somehow October already, and it’s been months since the Giveaway Extravaganza, and far too many months since a standalone extravaganza. I really need to have more of these. Partly because I love giving away stuff. And partly because if I was smart I’d do more of these posts merely because they take all of about 6 minutes to put together. 60kms today down Beach Road in sunny Melbourne, followed by the 210km Around the Bay event on Sunday. After a few months of winter gotta make the most out of summer/spring weather!
My “training” will be putting numbers on IM Kona participants then hitting several race locations to cheer them on, followed by a big party at the finish line. After that I think I’ll have some recovery workouts involving snorkeling and rubbing on sunscreen.

1 hour ride Sat am to loosen the the legs then road racing at 2pm then bbq. Sunday warm up ride 7am then crit at 8 and a cool down ride of an hour. All with my wife Ann who is my training and racing partner!

I’m riding 2000kms this month for the Great Cycle Challenge (raising money for kids cancer research) and as I had the last 2 days off with the flu I need to put in a couple of big rides this weekend to get back on track. 25 miles of hills in Saturday
65 miles on Sunday
Bike ride + walk with the wife. Oh, and many dog walks.
A quick 40miler tomorrow and a short 1hr upper body gym session in the evening, with some college work inbetween!
Then on Sunday a longer, slightly slower 70-80miler with the local club!
Half a day riding nice trails :).
