Absolutely nothing! Raced my last 50 mile ultra of the season and finished under 7 hours, so I think I deserve a few days off to start the “off season” right.
It’s cyclocross season. I’ll be rolling around the mud, falling over barricades and taking food and “beverages” while riding my bike fast. In the cold.

Normally I would be putting in about six miles of running on Saturday and resting on Sunday. But no running this weekend. I get to watch my stepson participate in Special Olympics Bowling on Saturday. And Sunday we are taking him for a train ride. I would love to win this Garmin ad a belated birthday gift for my son who is really into bicycling now. Have a great weekend everyone!

Sunday morning a mountainbike trip in Nutter from approx 100km.
I am going to ride round the south downs until my eyes bleed, sadly not having a decent GPS device (nudge, nudge) means I have to keep going until something physical lets me know I’ve done some worthwhile training, my eyes bleed at roughly the 60-mile point with a couple of thousand feet of climbs, I need to improve on that.

So far just running with 2 full marathons under my belt, but one day I want the iron man label. This 520 will hopefully be a catalyst to my ultimate goal.
Since I am starting my taper week for Beach 2 Battle Ship 70.3, I don’t have anything too crazy.
Today 2500 meter swim.
Tomorrow, 1500 swim and 90 on the bike.
Sunday, 10 minute spin up and 60 minutes running.
Hard run of 7 – 10 miles Saturday followed by easy 5 – 8 miles on Sunday.
Probably a 35-40 km trail ride Saturday. Easier 30 km ride on Sunday.
Can’t ride because of my knee, but I’ll watch great champions at Kona this WE while recovering.
Well I will be setting up my indoor training space. Getting bike on trainer, TV and computer testing, check out my DVD collection, and hope I can get one more outdoor 40mile ride in.
