A day in bed engaging in some positive and restorative exercise
Leaving Galway City at 8:30am on a 110km cycle with a cycle group. Heading west out the coast road towards Connemara and then swinging back for Galway at Maam cross.
Going to pop into the local gym to see how a friend is getting on with his marathon run on a treadmill, nutter, but he’s doing it for charity and it’s fitting into his training for a 24 hour race in March.
Anyway, later I’ll do a short run to the swimming pool where I have a speed test scheduled to see what my css pace is. Fun day planned in all.
On Sunday I’ll also be doing a training session in prep for a national series duathalon on the 28th of Febuary.

Forest orienteering training. Middle distance technique for about 90 minutes.
Easy 10k trail run.
Long run, tempo run, and/or road race. Possibly a crit on sunday.
Racing traffic to Chicago for a weekend away without kids.
25 mile ride and 5 mile run
Both my girls (wife and doughter) are sick, so i will go for a 5k run in the morning, and then we will spend afternoon and evening together.
Long open water ocean swim.
Recovery week, easy day in the gym.
an hour on the spin bike, 1300 yard swim, and an hour walk. and PT exercises.

One hour swimming for the two of us
Short hike with a 20lb medicine ball… I mean 1 year-old strapped to my front.
I have a date with my PT instructor at 7am! Strength and conditioning tomorrow. The wife is “well pressed” with that
My Valentines racing is the Krispy Kreme run. 2.5 miles eat a dozen donuts 2.5 miles back. Then an hour on the bike.
Running the baby around the park
I will swim 2000m in the pool.
Wish I could ride in the snow with the bike but will be difficult.
Leaving the snowy northeast and going down to Florida for the week. Will be doing a run on the beach every morning with the girl.
Tomorrow is my last day of vacation… So one last run along Clear Lake California.
Nice 3 hour Bike ride.
On Valentines day I will run 8.6 km at 7.30 min/km.
Short, recovery day. 20 (more or less) Km on the bike.
Crosscountry Skiing if the snow is still there, otherwise indoor crosscountry pole machine.
Third run of the first week of Bridge to 10K
Maybe an easy run to get ready for our 30th Wedding Anniversary run on Monday.

Couple of hours on the bike in the morning followed by a brisk 5k run. Then settle down with a few ales for the afternoon for the England Italy match, a brief break for food before Ireland France with Guinness then a curry supper, perfect Valentine’s Day.

My Valentines Day workout plans consist of my wife and I taking our newborn out for a walk! I might hit the gym later as well, but the quality time as a family is what matters more to me. I’ve skipped more than a few workouts because I couldn’t bring myself to stop holding her and leave. She is perfect.
I’ll be running just 6-8 miles working back up to a half I’ll be running in March.
