Wake up to a cup of coffee and then 5 miles for both the mrs. and myself. She is training for a 1/2 marathon. I’m training for a nice romantic weekend trip we are taking to Jamaica in a couple weeks! First trip in 8 years, after 4 kids. MUCH NEEDED!

Saturday is a granddaughter babysit day. But the training must go on for the 1/2 marathon in 5 weeks. A nice 6 mike trail run is on the schedule. I’ll run with one of my daughters so she can push one of the strollers. Good fun!
2,000 m swim in the morning. Home to make breakfast for my valentine! 10-12km run in the afternoon. First tri of the year is in 3 weeks!

12 mile long run (at least long for me): 1 mile warm-up, 10.5 zone 2, and 1/2 mile cool-down. Planning to be done early so I can make my wife some breakfast prior to when she and the kids wake up.

I have a two hour ride on the schedule for tomorrow. Sunshine and mid-50 degrees means a return to outdoor riding! Still plenty of time left for Valentine’s plans with the wife. Now I just need to figure out what those are.
Well, Saturday is a rest day, but rest is still an important part of a training plan, right?
May burn some calories outdoors with the kids, since it’s supposed to “warm up” to -6degC.
Sunday will be a tempo workout on the bike trainer, since the daytime high is forecast to be -17degC.

I’m taking a group of kids downhill skiing on the 14th and fly to Phoenix on the 15th. After landing, I’m running to the top of Camelback Mountain.
Saturday is long run for me! An easy, nice slow run and a trip with wifey and friends to Dave and Busters in the afternoon! And of course some beer in between.
The weather is supposed to be beautiful so I am hoping for 40-50 miles on my road bike.

My husband has recently decided that he’s going to get really good at cross-country skiing, despite the lack of snow in California right now. So, we’re taking advantage of the recent storm and heading to Tahoe for lots of long cross-country skiing.
