A May Day Giveaway

G1980807

While meticulously lining up the above action cameras for some underwater tests this week I realized that somehow I missed April on the giveaway plan.  I’ll blame the stingray for that, as clearly there’s no other explanation.  But don’t worry, I won’t forget June…after all, we all know what happens in June!  And with a massive ton of hot new gadgets on the market, I promise it’ll be EPIC!

And while it’s not technically May Day anymore, it is a day in May, thus one could technically still call this a May Day Giveaway (and I am).  But no matter what I call it – it’s still a giveaway, and that’s what counts!

So in order to get folks all spring’d up, it’s time to give some stuff away!  In this case, that’d be a $400 credit to Clever Training.  Which, is enough to cover any of the action cams above (including the GoPro that I took the photo with) – or, any other gadget they sell, like a new Garmin, Suunto or Polar unit.  Or you can use the credit towards a trainer or power meter.  Your choice.

To enter yourself in, simply leave a comment below with the following:

To Enter: Tell me your next planned race (location/rough date) and the goal for the race.  If you don’t have any planned races this year, then let’s go with the last race you competed and how it went.

Got it?  Go forth!

Entries will be accepted through Monday night, 11:59PM Eastern time (May 12th, 2014).  I’ll be you giving one device worth up to $400US from Clever Training.   Winner will be chosen at random and announced on roughly Tuesday, depending on how sunburned I get at the beach on Monday.  One entry per person.  The winner can decide on which device after they win.  For devices/gadgets/gizmos over $400, the winner can pay the difference.

This giveaway is sponsored by Clever Training, which I’ve got a great partnership with.  As you probably remember, by picking up sports technology gadgets from Clever Training you support the site.  And on top of that, all DC Rainmaker readers get an exclusive 10% off all products they sell (basically every sports tech company/gadget/device) using coupon code DCR10BTF or now via the VIP program.  And most of all, you support the site in a big way – so I appreciate it!

Note, if you’re US Active Duty Military – you can submit your entry via e-mail (now closed).   No Easter bunnies allowed via this method. Mmmkay?  Thanks all!

Last year in winter my little son brought every single cold home from krabbelstube (like a pre-kindergarten) one can possibly catch there. It was kind of a four-month-outbreak wich ruined my fitness, nerves and trainingplans for my first time ever start at an Ironman race in Frankfurt am Main. I had to cancel it one month before wich was a great loss… This year i am training for IM Mallorca in September to do my first triathlon long distance. btw my wife never catches the stuff he brings homes for us wich is a real mystery to me :-D

I am going to speak about the race that was held in 2013. It was a BRM 200 KM as always it was fun and challenging. I was leading the pack right from the beginning. When I reached the 100KM mark it was U turn and I decided to move along and not stop for a long time. So during the return leg I was overtaken by an PRO rider and he was the 1st and the last to overtake me in that ride. I completed 2nd in the ride. It was super fun and challenging. Thank you DC rainmaker for giving me the opportunity to remember back the wonderful event.

  32. Darren

My next race is the MusselMan Half in Geneva NY in July.

  33. MAGNUS

Just completed my first IronMan 70.3 (Texas) and it went great. Much better than expected. I signed up for the race as my first tri but shortly after sign up registered for a Sprint. Even only after having completed the one race prior I was very happy with my performance. I almost feel I could have maybe done a little better which just makes me more excited about going back for round 2 next year.

Between now and then I’m signed up for two olympic distance races (Playtri Festival International 06/01/2014 and Stonebridge Ranch Triathlon 09/28/2014). The later is the sprint I completed last year.

Now more than ever looking forward to progressing even further in what I’m capable, both physically and mentally.

    Ps.
Just learned of the site. I’m loving it. Great articles and reviews. Keep up the great work.

  54. scott M

Unfortunately I have caught the “I like chocolate doughnuts” bug and it has lasted over six months. Recovery should begin soon and the couch that has been attached to my ass is getting surgically removed this weekend. So…my next race should be in 3 months (if all goes well).
I am normally very active – blaming it on a brutal winter.
    Thanks for the consideration.

  55. John Friesen

My next race is my first half marathon. It is on May 25 and is the Abbotsford Run for Water. My goal is to run 1:45.

  65. Brad

Last race completed was the Abilene 1/2 on 4/13/13 and set a PR of 11:54 pace, not too bad for weighing over 400lbs 1.5 years before that. Quit running shortly after that for a variety of personal reasons but started up again 1/10/14 and have been slowly getting back to where I was a couple of years ago. Looking for a 1/2 in the fall though just to get back into the racing groove again and want to run the Abilene again in 2015.
