While meticulously lining up the above action cameras for some underwater tests this week I realized that somehow I missed April on the giveaway plan. I’ll blame the stingray for that, as clearly there’s no other explanation. But don’t worry, I won’t forget June…after all, we all know what happens in June! And with a massive ton of hot new gadgets on the market, I promise it’ll be EPIC!
And while it’s not technically May Day anymore, it is a day in May, thus one could technically still call this a May Day Giveaway (and I am). But no matter what I call it – it’s still a giveaway, and that’s what counts!
So in order to get folks all spring’d up, it’s time to give some stuff away! In this case, that’d be a $400 credit to Clever Training. Which, is enough to cover any of the action cams above (including the GoPro that I took the photo with) – or, any other gadget they sell, like a new Garmin, Suunto or Polar unit. Or you can use the credit towards a trainer or power meter. Your choice.
To enter yourself in, simply leave a comment below with the following:
To Enter: Tell me your next planned race (location/rough date) and the goal for the race. If you don’t have any planned races this year, then let’s go with the last race you competed and how it went.
Got it? Go forth!

Entries will be accepted through Monday night, 11:59PM Eastern time (May 12th, 2014). I’ll be you giving one device worth up to $400US from Clever Training. Winner will be chosen at random and announced on roughly Tuesday, depending on how sunburned I get at the beach on Monday. One entry per person. The winner can decide on which device after they win. For devices/gadgets/gizmos over $400, the winner can pay the difference.
This giveaway is sponsored by Clever Training, which I’ve got a great partnership with. As you probably remember, by picking up sports technology gadgets from Clever Training you support the site. And on top of that, all DC Rainmaker readers get an exclusive 10% off all products they sell (basically every sports tech company/gadget/device) using coupon code DCR10BTF or now via the VIP program. And most of all, you support the site in a big way – so I appreciate it!
Note, if you’re US Active Duty Military – you can submit your entry via e-mail (now closed). No Easter bunnies allowed via this method. Mmmkay? Thanks all!

Seriously….my goal for this even is to finish…..my longest trail race to date is 25km.

Wow, tons of comments like usual. Hopefully I’ll have a shot at winning!
My next race will be the Aggie Mile in College Station, Texas. It’s the first year the race is held, and I’m looking to get a fast mile PR on the downhill course.

I’ll be riding the Santa Fe Gran Fondo/Century next weekend. It’ll be my seventh century ride since taking up cycling last year and the 2nd time doing the Santa Fe. I’m hoping to finish in 6 hours overall time.

Kansas City Triathlon on May 18th. I would love to set a PR for the distance, hopefully ~2:15.
1 year on from my first triathlon, I raced again at the Bustinskin Ospery Sprint and took 9 minutes off last years time. The winter hard work worked!

This year my real goal is to actually be able to run and not be injured at race time.

Not so much a race, but an organized century. Last weekend — at the 57.5 mile rest stop got a bit of bad directions. We went 19 miles out of our way before we figured it out…. so our century turned into a ~138 mile gran fondo. Added 2 hours to the time too — so finished in 7:55.
Ironman Florida, November 1st 2014. Goal: swim < 1h, bike < 5:15, not shit my pants on the run.
San Diego RnR Marathon, June 1. Shooting for 3:45, but I’ll be happy with anything under 4.
Love the site! The wife and I will probably be in Paris after the Medoc Marathon in Sept, so we’ll be sure to grab some cupcakes.
Rev3 Rush at Richmond Motor Speedway. Draft legal and should be really fun. Only goal is to not crash in a bike pack full of triathletes who aren’t the best bike handlers (myself included).
No races planned at this point, but will start gearing up for fall cyclocross season. I just completed the Paris To Ancaster Race. I did it with my wife. It was her first bike race. It was a great change to do an event like that with the objective of finishing and enjoying the ride, rather than a specific finishing time.
Looks like I won’t be the only DCR reader at Rev3 Quassy Half on June 1st. First prep race for IMMT in August. My goal is not to fade on the crazy hills!
Tar Heal 10 miler in NC. It was a great day, perfect run! Thanks!
Marin Double Century – Aug2. Hoping not to die or get a sacral pressure ulcer.
Ogden Marathon next week! Hope to get my PR down by at least 30 minutes or so from my first full. Ultimate goal is a BQ at St. George this fall. A Garmin would help me nail my speed work to obtain that goal.

Kansas City Triathlon in KC, MO on May 18 — Hoping top 10 Age Group finish…
Ironman Raleigh 70.3. Shooting for sub 5:30
Next race is a sprint tune-up in Moses Lake on Memorial Day. Goals: Don’t hurt myself? Don’t rip new wetsuit? Two weeks later is the next big one, and it’s a Olympic Nationals superqualifier, so there’s a big goal there…
Chicago Marathon, October 12, looking to PR at 4:30 (4:38 is my current PR) and my first time running a marathon for charity – the Dana & Christopher Reeve Foundation
10K trail race on May 31st in Charlotte, NC: goal is podium in under 40 minutes.
I just finished the Long Island Marathon on Sunday which I ran to set up my training for my fall Marathon. I will probably run the Hamptons Marathon this fall although I’m also considering a local Ultra. The one race I’m sure about running is the Blueberry 5 Mile run in Machias Maine in August. I’m hoping to get under 35 minutes on that which would be about a 1 minutes PR for the race. If I lose more weight my goal will get more aggressive.
Saw you in Boston a few weeks ago! Went on to run a PR with 2:53:43! Next up is my first sprint triathlon – a local event – on June 22nd. The swimming is going… well… let’s just say I’m not a fish!
New York City Marathon!!! Nov 2…Since it’s my first marathon ever I’m trying to tell myself that just finishing should be the goal but in my head I’d really like to do it in under 4:50.

Next race: 27th of July.
Going for our yearly very short Triathlon (400m/20km/5km).

Off to Germany for Challenge Roth in July…. aim? Just get to the end.
Next race is the Derek Sheeley Lead The Way 4-Miler in Germantown, MD. My goal is to beat our CEO. We’ve both put on some winter weight, so it’ll be interesting!
