While I was enjoying the umpteenth day straight of mind-bogglingly sunny weather here in the ‘City of Light’, it occurred to my that St. Patrick’s day is Monday. Despite the French fondness for any reason to take the day off, it is not considered a national holiday here. Not that it would matter anyway, I get to spend some 12-14 hours on a plane bouncing across the ocean.
So for no other reason than it’s (almost) St. Patrick’s day, and sorta-spring like (lucky charms and all), it’s time for a giveaway.
The prize is simple: A $400 credit to to Clever Training to buy anything from the site you’d like. You can use it on anything they offer, from a Garmin/Polar/Suunto watch to a PowerBeam trainer, or a Quarq power meter. If the item is over $400US, you’ll simply pay the difference, shipping is free either way. The giveaway is open to all readers – including international folks.

My weekend are off days from office where I pile in the mileage. In my build up to my first IronMan 70.3 Triathlon in a month’s time, I will be doing the following workouts this weekend:
Saturday:
* 210 minutes of cycling: Zone 2 to work on my mileage
* Follow it up with 60 minutes of running to train for running on not-so-fresh legs.
* Rest for the day to recover
Sunday:
* 60-90 minutes of swimming drills
* 180 minutes of long run to practice running longer distance in the sun
I would so love to win this giveaway as it would make my buildup to the first 70.3 so much more special. And I could totally use the credit to upgrade to 910XT over my current 310XT as as it’d be a valuable for my future triathlon training.

The Week End begins on Friday for me… in the morning I worked in the Tunnel, now… I’m just off the TacX for a 130km ride (Giro d’Italia Stage1). I can’t train on Saturdays because I am there underground from 9 to 20 but I can’t exclude a half marathon at dawn. The real training comes on Sunday. I volounteered for digging out a special room I can’t disclose right now but you’ll see on the newspapers all over the world once the digging is complete, the war relics are recovered and it’s been inaugurated by the President Napolitano himself. :-)
Last week, 3 hours of digging marked 1450kcal with little aerobic but extremely heavy neuromuscular stress. Got to say my T6c took a PLAIN HIT by a pick on the glass and it didn’t even get scratched. Unbelievable? No, just top of the art finnish manufacturing skills. :-)
Well If I can get to the shop and buy the GoPro chest strap it’s more than likely I’m running at dawn tomorrow. Cya!!!! :-)
