An Easter You Choose The Gadget Giveaway!

IMG_2630

Today’s Easter.  And even if you don’t celebrate Easter, you can instead celebrate the chocolate bunny…or, as is apparently also the case here in France – the chocolate chicken (and, even an odd rash of Chocolate Nemo’s I’ve seen too).

Failing your celebration of any of those things…then how about just celebrating a gadget giveaway?  Simple and good, right?

Last month y’all loved the ‘you choose’ aspect of the giveaway.  Meaning that I let you choose which gadget you want to win.  Yup, if you want that Wahoo RFLKT- it’s yours!  If you want the Garmin FR610 – same thing.  Or the latest Timex, Polar and CycleOps creations.  Whatever fits your training best (up to $500US), I’m giving it to ya.  Technically, I suppose Clever Training is giving it to you.  (Btw, for those curious, last month’s winner selected the FR910XT with heart rate strap.)

IMG_2635

So I’ve got you covered on pretty much whatever you want.  Unless you want a chocolate bunny.  In which case, you can pretty much go to the grocery store tomorrow and pay about 50% less than I paid for it Saturday.  And perhaps your chocolate bunny won’t look quite as menacing as my chocolat lapin looks.

To enter yourself in, simply leave a comment below with the following:

“Let me know which workout you’ll be doing in an attempt to override any Easter-associated candy that may be consumed.  If for some completely unexplainable reason you aren’t biting the head off of a chocolate bunny, feel free to just pick your Sunday workout (or nearest completed workout).  Extra points for listing the Easter candy that put you in this predicament.”

Got it?

Entries will be accepted through Monday night, 11:59PM Eastern time (April 1st, 2013).  I’ll be giving one device worth up to $500US from Clever Training.   Winner will be chosen at random and announced on roughly Tuesday or Wednesday (I may still be pre-occupied eating chocolate bunnies).  One entry per person.  The winner can decide on which device after they win.  Devices/gadgets/gizmos over $500, the winner can pay the difference.

This giveaway is sponsored by Clever Training, which I’ve got a great partnership with.  As you probably remember, by picking up sports technology gadgets from Clever Training you support the site.  And on top of that, all DC Rainmaker readers get an exclusive 10% off all products they sell (basically every sports tech company/gadget/device) using coupon code DCR10BTF (along with the link above).  But no bunnies.  And most of all, you support the site in a big way – so I appreciate it!

Note, if you’re US Active Duty Military – you can submit your entry via e-mail instead [Entry now closed].  Note that this is ONLY for Active Duty military.  No bunny rabbits or chocolatiers allowed via this method.  Mmmkay?  Thanks all!

I’ll run 20k just for run as I do on a regular day..

  2. In Spain we have the “flowers” which are fried sweets (flower shaped) with sugar, ummmh, the problem is that it takes ages to remove them from your body, so I think that I am going to do some fell running in Madrid or maybe kayacking because it has been raining for the last 4 weeks.

  9. Since I’ve been eating triple coated milk chocolate malt balls I’m running 13 miles. I’d go more put I’m tapering for Boston.

Woke up bright and early Easter morning and hammered out a nice 12 mile run at an average 8:20 pace. Ran from the upper back bay in Newport Beach, CA, up the San Diego Creek Trail deep into the master-planned City of Irvine, and back. That mileage’s 1,143 calorie burn oughta mitigate approximately 6.75 bunnies, at an average 5 ounce chocolate bunny at 170 calories each, according to Livestrong. :-D

I wonder how many of Bertie’s cupcakes I woulda burned off …. :)

  18. This easter (just as last easter) I am yet again sidelined with a stress fracture! That has not stopped me from treating myself to a milk chocolate rabbit (solid, I may add). I’m assuming there’s added calcium in the milk chocolate? Yeah, that’s my story and I’m sticking with it. At least until I can get this lousy boot off my leg!

  70. Dan Lipsher

OK, so I don’t really celebrate Easter (being a descendent of one of the 12 tribes of Israel), but I honored the Resurection of Your Lord and Savior with a 87 km (that’s for you, Ray, and the fact that I just started tracking in metric on my Garmin 800) bike ride with 1,500 m of climbing. And I will be observing one religious observation: It’s Opening Day (technically Opening Night) for baseball. So I guess my workout was a preburn of the hot dogs and beer that I won’t actually be consuming as my beloved Texas Rangers take on the hated Houston Astros on ESPN at 6:00 p.m. MDT.

    Joyeuses Pâques!

  71. Ricou

A long “ride on my tacx” and a little run with my 9 year old that is faster than me!!! I’m not that slow, it’s just that he’s fast!!!!

  76. Corey S.

150 calories per Cadbury Creme Egg, 4 eggs per box, ~80 calories every 10 minutes on the stationary bike… carry the one… 1 1/2 hours on the fitdesk while watching the Avengers should about cover it.

Haven’t had that much chocolate yet, but I’m sure I’ll do before the end of the day. Tomorrow I’ll be doing a TrainerRoad cycling workout named “Keeler Needle”, to kick off the 6th and last week of the Intermediate Base II training plan.

  87. My easter challenge. 100m+200m+500m+1000m+2000m+3000m+2000m+1000m+500m+200m+100m.

  88. Given that I have what is likely a calf strain, I’ve taken this weekend off. As much as I would love to get outdoors and get in the 40 mile bike ride that I had planned on in the BEAUTIFUL weather we’re having, the inner coach in me is restricting me to upper body work.

I’ll probably do as many rounds of 10 pushups & 10 crunches as I can every half hour for the rest of the day just to get my endorphin kick.

I managed to avoid all candy this weekend, but I did attend a brunch buffet today where I couldn’t resist two cupcakes and a donut.

  89. Nate

  95. My hip is a bit injured at the mo’ so it’s all splashing around this week. Sunday’s workout was a straight 1500m TT in the 50m pool (followed by a 10 minute, uh, cool down in the hot tub).
