Today’s Easter. And even if you don’t celebrate Easter, you can instead celebrate the chocolate bunny…or, as is apparently also the case here in France – the chocolate chicken (and, even an odd rash of Chocolate Nemo’s I’ve seen too).
Failing your celebration of any of those things…then how about just celebrating a gadget giveaway? Simple and good, right?
Last month y’all loved the ‘you choose’ aspect of the giveaway. Meaning that I let you choose which gadget you want to win. Yup, if you want that Wahoo RFLKT- it’s yours! If you want the Garmin FR610 – same thing. Or the latest Timex, Polar and CycleOps creations. Whatever fits your training best (up to $500US), I’m giving it to ya. Technically, I suppose Clever Training is giving it to you. (Btw, for those curious, last month’s winner selected the FR910XT with heart rate strap.)
So I’ve got you covered on pretty much whatever you want. Unless you want a chocolate bunny. In which case, you can pretty much go to the grocery store tomorrow and pay about 50% less than I paid for it Saturday. And perhaps your chocolate bunny won’t look quite as menacing as my chocolat lapin looks.
To enter yourself in, simply leave a comment below with the following:
“Let me know which workout you’ll be doing in an attempt to override any Easter-associated candy that may be consumed. If for some completely unexplainable reason you aren’t biting the head off of a chocolate bunny, feel free to just pick your Sunday workout (or nearest completed workout). Extra points for listing the Easter candy that put you in this predicament.”
Got it?

Entries will be accepted through Monday night, 11:59PM Eastern time (April 1st, 2013). I’ll be giving one device worth up to $500US from Clever Training. Winner will be chosen at random and announced on roughly Tuesday or Wednesday (I may still be pre-occupied eating chocolate bunnies). One entry per person. The winner can decide on which device after they win. Devices/gadgets/gizmos over $500, the winner can pay the difference.
This giveaway is sponsored by Clever Training, which I’ve got a great partnership with. As you probably remember, by picking up sports technology gadgets from Clever Training you support the site. And on top of that, all DC Rainmaker readers get an exclusive 10% off all products they sell (basically every sports tech company/gadget/device) using coupon code DCR10BTF (along with the link above). But no bunnies. And most of all, you support the site in a big way – so I appreciate it!
Note, if you’re US Active Duty Military – you can submit your entry via e-mail instead [Entry now closed]. Note that this is ONLY for Active Duty military. No bunny rabbits or chocolatiers allowed via this method. Mmmkay? Thanks all!

Today I jogged 13km. I must learn how not to run at high HR, because I need to improve my aerobic base. I love bunnies I would never bite them in the head, maybe in the neck. ;-)
PS: Just an idea, instead of random selection, which can be considered as simply gambling, it should be more profitable for the blog contents if only those people could participate who made some valuable posts before. I know, I know, in that case the giveaway would not be a tool to measure the number of active blog followers. ;-)
Simply 50 min run with 80% HrMax.

The Easter bunny apparently didn’t want me running because I killed two treadmills during my long run. Hop from one to the next, then finally hopped outside to finish my long run.
Bike the mountain road from Jarabacoa to Constanza, DR. 7,000 ft of gain in 35 miles round trip.
Just a short swim on the schedule for me today
Long run Sunday! Should be 12k, but between the unexpected sunshine and the copious amounts of chocolate, might have to make it 14.
Finally, I can bike again….
14 mile bike time trial in Prince William Forest with an extra 3 mile warm up and 3 mile cool down.
16k long run in nice sunny weather through Copenhagen
I have resisted the Easter candy this year because it’s just a messy, slippery slope once I get going. Did a 15 mile ride this morning to offset the winter’s nonsense.

Yesterday was a HASH run, complete with beer (though I don’t partake – gluten you know)….but I was able to set the alarm early and get up and run 4 extra miles before the hash….and this all because of peanut M&M’s…and Reese’s peanut butter cups….no chocolate bunny but maybe a PeeP or two

3 mile run tomorrow to work off my bachelor party and swimming the day after too
Cadbury Cream Eggs are my bane. There may have been some sampling as the baskets got filled last night. So I did an hour run this morning, 30 minutes at tempo – which was decidedly lackluster, I suspect due to sugar overload from the night before. But I did get it done!

2.5 hours on the trainer this morning.
50 kms by bike!
Since I’m only eating a pair of bunny ears and a small chocolate carrot gifted to me by my children, today’s easy 2 mile trail run is all I’m putting in!
I work Saturday and run to and from work, snuck in a lunch run for 14.8 miles for the day. This morning I ran an easy 13.1. I helped the easter bunny out quite a bit last night…
I raced in the park, ~24 miles :)
Sadly my FR610 went for a bush walk at 30mph…
I rode my bike on Saturday to get the space for the Easter candies and lunch at my mother’s.
On Monday a 15kms trail runno set pace I’ll just run for pleasure.
I’m not wolfing down candy, but I did need a day off. I did some yoga (a 90-minute Ashtanga routine) instead of running.
The kids (all three of them) just been adviced not to eat any milk related food for the next three weeks, so no chocolete bunny this year for the family. Anyways I’d have been working it off on my next horse riding training on Wednesday.
I am running 14 – 16 today in an attempt to burn lots of calories for the ham dinner I am preparing tonight, and the lemon meringue pie I made yesterday AND the Sees chocolate eggs I bought for the kids’ easter baskets … besides, I am running Boston in 2 weeks, so gettin’ ready to taper!
Running 10 miles in Zone 2
Want to ride one hour around town today.
Did a 6 mile run this morning and slow cooking for 6 hours a pork shoulder. Ok, not exactly an Easter candy but definitely an Easter treat.
Ride with boys. Ate some cheesecake today.
Just a 5km run for me
Easter candy serves merely to refuel from yesterdays (or technically last nights) Elk Mountain Grand Traverse 40 mile ski mountaineering race through the night from Crested Butte to Aspen.
For me, I had a 10km race simulation because there were no races nearby. It was highly needed after all chocolate eggs at work this week and the huge easter meal today :-)
3 hour hike on Sunday and first run back from an ankle sprain on Monday. Hoping for good results!

Training for the 1000 meter dash at school. 400 meter series at the track
bonny bolt 5k in Denver. It seemed that the course was short a 1/4 mile though. I never run a sub 20!
The first step is to eat the head off a dark chocolate bunny so I can claim that because it was dark chocolate it is good for my heart and wasn’t an indulgence anyway.
Second step is to do 8x hill repeats in rural Connecticut at the in-laws place. Well, more like 8x mountain repeats given the length and steepness of the road they live at the top of.
Third step is to eat the rest of the dark chocolate bunny after the workout (medicinal usage for my heart, naturally).
I will run some 25K, if the waether is nice.. snow storm coming. Poor rabbits outside! :-)
Sky-touring in the Dolomites!
10 mile EZ run
So cold and windy here in Switzerland. Planned for a 4-hr basic endurance ride on the bike. Will go ski mountaineering with 2-3 long climbs instead. Just enjoy the fresh snow!

After the lamb, it will be out on the bikes with my wife to cruise the Esplanade here in Portland, OR. Finally getting warm enough to do that. Then to the spring water trail, to I205 and back home. About 35 miles or so. Lets here it for
Did a 30k long run on Good Friday to earn my chocolate bunny allowance – and probably a 11ish km ‘chocolate recovery’ run Easter Monday..
Afraid it will not be more than a 1 hour easy run, after suffering from the flu and some good easter dinner.
This week I’m actually doing probably my longest workout run ever. I’m following Bobby McGee plan for a half ironman which calls for a 1h45′ run with 1:00 fast walk break every 12′.
6 miles easy this morning to make up for at least a couple of the Cadbury eggs I’ll be buying on clearance tomorrow!
