Spring has sprung Garmin FR910XT Giveaway

IMG_5942

If there were any more sign that it’s springtime around these parts, I’m not sure what it would be.  Starting yesterday we’ve got an out-of-nowhere string of 6 days of 70*F+ weather, including some days just a degree or two away from 80*F.  It’s nuts!

…and I’m lovin’ it!

In order help you usher in the warmer weather, I’m giving away a brand new (and not yet abused) Garmin FR910XT.  The FR910XT covers you across all sports from swim to bike to run.  So even if you’re green to the sport this season, you’ve still got plenty of time to start training in time for a triathlon this year (or, you can simply just stare into the shimmering blue colored light it emits).

IMG_1909

The best thing though is you’ve got nothing more to do than leave a single comment below (multiple comments don’t count around these parts!).

All you’ve gotta do is tell me what you’re excited for the season ahead (and, if you’re from the Southern Hemisphere, what you’re excited for the offseason ahead).  Sound good?

The entry period will run until Thursday March 15th, 2012 at 11:59PM Eastern Time, at which point I’ll close the entry period and randomly select a winner. Like the all my giveaways there are no restrictions on where the goods go to – so no matter where in the world you are, I’ll send to you. The winner will get a brand new Garmin Forerunner FR910XT (with HR strap).

(Note: If you’re active duty US military and deployed and are unable to complete the entry method above, simply shoot me an e-mail and I’ll get ya entered in. For those curious on how the giveaways work, here’s the deets. In short – I purchase and giveaway everything here, these are not sponsored by Garmin. Through careful planning I picked up a handful of them when they first came available…just so I could give them away to you. Thanks all!)

Excited!? No, excited it’s not the word. Having my second marathon on march 25th (Barcelona) makes me feel pretty nervous. I know running 3 times a week is not enough for finishing a marathon in less than 4 hours, but I did last year, so…

  32. First race in 2.5 weeks, awesome!!!

  33. Since I have been recovering from an injury for the past 2 months, I am excited about the off season here in Melbourne, Australia because I will finally be able to get out on the road and resume cycling and running while throwing the occasional swim session into the mix as well. It’s been a long, boring summer for me watching the days pass by without being out there training but soon I will be back and I can’t wait to hit the road and trails for what will be an awesome, albeit cold, off season with lots of training!

  34. Excited because my first child will be born this season.

  43. I’m looking forward to my first marathon in April and planning to enter my first triathlon in the summer.

  44. After going from 104kg (BMI 33.57) to 82kg in 1 year because of finding the pleasure (and pleasure in pain) in sports. I had plantar fascialitis & runner’s knee apparently from overtraining in 2011. But for 2012 I’m trying my first triathlon (1/2), 2 marathons, 1 1/2 marathon & maybe some bike races. All I need is improving my swimming (novice) so 910XT is perfect partner & motivator in water & on land :)

    Thanks for a great blog!

  55. this will be a great to pair with the new powermeter i purchased for our Bob jogger!

  56. Two years ago this summer my best friend died. He was a triathlete and I decided for the 2012 new year I would run one race each year in his honor. As an Iraq Veteran from the first gulf war he ultimately had always wanted to run the DC marathon. I intend to run that at least once for him when I can work up to it. Having left a year old and young wife behind (he died at age 39) I hope to create a college fund for his daughter and try to raise money for every mile I do run. I guess now that I have this out there on the web, I am now on the hook to make the effort! :-D
